You sighed in relief, happy you gotten the day off for once. Since you couldn't run off to the human world like Matsumoto did when she got a break, the only option than sleeping the day away in your room was to walk around the Seireitei.
Passing a small shop, a small blur of orange caught your eye, causing you to stop and look over the wares. The young man standing behind the counter smiled, which you returned with equal sincerity.
He gestured toward the small rack of shelves to your right, "Charms are very popular. They're mostly for girls, who think the characters are really cute," Another grin brightened his face, "They'd be great for you, since you're cute, too."
"Oh, thank you." You glanced over the charms as another customer came by to distract the clerk. They were all animals, smiling cutely. Once you reached the one on the bottom shelf, you blinked. It was the orange you had seen before, a tiny fox charm with a wide grin.
Just like a certain captain...
You huffed slightly, knowing for certain no matter how cute it was, if you bought it and Gin found out he would tease you to no end.
"Have you found any you liked?" The clerk left the little girl who was looking at the bracelets to tend to you once more.
You shrugged, "I'm still looking."
The young man grinned, leaning onto the counter, "That's fine; I could look at you all day."
Just as your mouth opened to brush him off and politely tell him you weren't interested, someone else's voice interrupted you.
"That one looks cute~"
The clerk straightened, face pale and expression now only embarrassment and fear. "O-oh, good afternoon, sir."
Your eyes widened as you felt the man standing behind you slide his hand down your back and give you a not-so-subtle squeeze. You turned to see Gin leaning over your shoulder, grinning as usual.
...Oh dear.
He picked up the fox charm, snickering. "Ya should get this one~" His attention turned back to the clerk, who was looked ready to faint. "Don't ya agree?"
The man refused to answer, which only made Gin's smirk wider.
"Gin, you-!" Another squeeze made you yelp, effectively silencing you.
"How much fer this?" He reached over to grab a small ribbon necklace, "And this?"
"It's...uh....it's free!" You didn't get to see the look Gin gave the clerk, but it certainly did its job.
He moved to stand next to you, nudging your waist to turn you toward him. Gin quickly clipped the charm onto the ribbon before leaning down and slipping the ends behind your neck. His lips grazing against yours, you could feel your face heating up at the closeness. The clerk shrank away from the two of you as Gin finished tying the ribbon, pulling away and straightening to his full height.
"It looks cute on ya, _____~"
You sighed, rolling your eyes and dragging him by the collar of his captain's robe away from the shop. Once away from the street and in the secluded alleyway, you crossed your arms and gave him a sceptical look. "Do you normally like to scare the public or is it just something you do subconsciously?"
Gin pouted, "Ya don't hafta be so mean about it..."
"You didn't have to scare that clerk!" You protested, fists clenched at your sides, "And what the hell is this for?!" Gesturing toward the necklace, he grinned again.
"So everybody else knows," Gin closed the space between the two of you, stroking the small of your back, "that yer mine~"
