I made my way down the dark alleyway, hoping that no one would see me. I finally reached the familiar street. I walked up to the house that I was forced to call my home. I opened the door, as slowly and quietly as I could, but it still made a small creaking noise. "Who's there?" I heard the voice that I had been desperately trying to avoid call out. I heard the footsteps coming down the stairs. I walked as quickly as possible around to the other side of the house, towards the other stairs and started making my way up them into my safe haven, my room. I heard a glass crash as the footsteps got closer. I entered my room and locked the door. I started to undress to change into my pajamas. I was left in only my undergarments when I heard keys. I froze on fright and looked over to where I kept my keys, and found that they weren't there. The door opened and the person I hated the most walked in. "You little bitch. You've been trying to avoid me. You can't avoid me any longer. You think you're smart? Well always remember, I'm one fucking step ahead." I could smell the alcohol radiating off of him, and I could hear the slur in his words. He pushed me onto the bed. "I've got you now, you little bitch."

I woke up at two in the morning. I sighed and grabbed my pre-packed bag and grabbed my keys off of the floor. I put on my coat and some boots and drove to my only safe place.
When I got there I climbed up the house and through the window mindlessly. My best friend, Caleb, is the only one who knows about my......... situation... and he found out by pure accident. I saw him move over in the bed to make space for me. This was a pretty normal thing for us, and it happened basically on an everyday basis.
"You DO know that you could just move here and get away from him, right?" " I'm fine." "All I'm saying is that you could just-" " I said I'm fucking fine!!!!!!!"
