Chapter 1: The Ice Cream Shop

Two years later..

Adeline's POV

Here I am walking in the middle of the night on the streets of New York, supporting drunk Madeline so that she could walk. Drunk Madeline is a bad news, it means, broken heart Madeline, five year old brain Madeline. Drunk Madeline is TROUBLE. Why can't I have a normal sister who reads books for fun? Instead they gave me a drunk Madeline.

"Madeline! Stop bloody tripping, tell your feet to walk straight!" I hissed at my soon to be unconscious Madeline

"Shhhh.. Why-hiccup-must you-hiccup-shout Adeline? My head hurts." she whined and shushed me with her dirty pointer finger.

"Why must you drink on work night? I have work tomo.." before I could finish my rant Madeline squeeld like a little girl on Christmas Eve

"Oh-hiccup-My-hiccup-Gossssh!! Is that-hiccup-Ice Cream?! I-hiccup-want Ice-hiccup-Cream Adeline." she said clinging to me and making the best puppy dog eyes she could manage

"NO." I said looking away

"Pleeeaaasee." she asked pleadingly

"We have to get you home now Madeline." I said as I dragged her away from the shop

"But-hiccup-I want my fucking Ice Cream!" She shouted and planted her feet on the ground

"MADELINE ITS TWO IN THE FUCKING MORNING AND I HAVE WORK TOMORROW! DON'T BE SUCH A KID AND GET YOUR ASS MOVING!" I hissed at my sister

"NO-hiccup-FUCK YOU ADELINE!." she shouted and started to kick and scratch my arm

"MADELINE STOP!" I shouted at her but she keeps on removing my grip on her hand

After five minutes of dragging, shouting like a mad woman, Madeline finally stopped resisting. She was finally walking beside quietly. Five minutes have passed again, she stopped walking and had this mischievous glint in her eyes, I shot her the 'dont you dare try' look, but she just grinned and ran away.

"FUCKING MADELINE! STOP FUCKING RUNNING!" I shouted after her but she only responded with a maniac laugh

Before she could enter the door, I chucked my self at her back making us fall with a laud thud

"You're being a kid Madeline." I growled at her

"I-hiccup-want-hiccup-my Ice Cream." she said softly and sniffling

Why does she have to be this annoying? 

"Fine. But you ten minutes." I sighed and stood up

Before she I could start walking she ran like a dog towards the counter and pointed various flavors of ice cream.  

Poor guy he has to suffer Madeline's idiot-nes 

"That was quite a show back there." an unknown husky voice said beside me.

I nearly pee'd my pants.

"Geez! Hi to you too." I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes playfully 

"I saw you  two back there brawling like professionals." he said with amusement in his tone

"Uhm, yeah. It happens thrice a week." I shrugged and bit my lip 

My breath caught in my throat when the stranger.. hot stranger faced me. He was tall and a bit bulky, he has a curly brown hair and his eyes oh god his eyes, he was wearing a white shirt and some designer jeans accompanied by some red vans. Its was simple yet stylish.

I am now a bit self conscious of my attire, I was wearing a sweatpants an over sized hoodie and my white chuck taylor's, I have to put my hair in a messy bun so that Madeline can't pull it. God why didn't I wear a more presentable clothing?

"I'm Casper Oakley, by the way." he said flashing me with his adorable smile with those cute one sided dimple. Its that kind of smile that can make a girl head over heels for him.

"Adeline Simpson." I said extending my hand to his direction, he stared at it for a moment then shook it.

"Let me guess, that was your twin sister?" he asked me and I just nod in response

Our conversation died quickly, but it wasn't awkward, it was one of those comfortable silence. I have never like this since Oliver. I heard some clear its throat and I glanced at Casper, he was smiling at me.

"I guess, I should get going now." he said chucking his thumb at the door

"Uhh yea sure." I said too quickly, glancing down at my shoes

"Give me your phone." he said handing out his right hand

I raised my eyebrows and fished my out of my hoodie pocket. He took it and tapped like a professional pianist 

"I dialed my number so that I have yours and you have mine." he said making his ears turn bright pink

It made my hear go awwwe

"Oh, cool." I said smiling at him

"Goodnight and uh .." he scratched the back of his head "see sometime i guess." he shrugged and started to walk away

I just stared at the door like he was going to back, but he didn't. This was new, some others will just say 'hi wanna go out with me' or 'hey there beautiful' it just makes me sick, I think Casper's different, like the way he approached me and made me feel. I hadn't felt it since Oliver and I were together.

"Well that was interesting." I heard Madeline said pure amusement   

"Shut up." I hissed at her

Indeed it was very very interesting
