"Elena! Get back here bitch!" My step father screamed. I cried out in pain as I fell down the stairs. He pinned me up against the wall. "My friends will be here soon" I managed to squeak out. He threw me to the ground. "Go fix your ugly self than" He spat and passes out on the sofa. I went to the bathroom. I put on a red skater dress, green cardigan, dark tights, and my vans. I covered my face with foundation, mainly over the bruises. I straightened my hair and then I heard the door knock. I answered it to see two of my best friends. Maya, and Riley.

I shut the door behind me. I had to be careful not to show I'm in pain, especially in front of Maya. She already suspects something. No matter how much I wanna tell them, I can't. He could hurt my mom. Plus she's in love with him. "Im so happy your step dad and mom are letting you come over to our house for Christmas!" Riley cheered. "My mom should be at your house soon" I explained. "Oh that's right. Your step dads leaving in a business trip again" Riley remember.

We arrived to the apartment. I was immediately hugged. I knew by the smell of vanilla perfume, it was Aunt Topanga. "Elena! I missed you so much! You need to come over more often!" She exclaimed. Then I was hugged by Auggie. "Hey little dude" I greeted and ruffled his hair. I jumped on Uncle Cory's back like a little kid.

"I can see so much from up here!" I cheered. I jumped down. My mom walked through the door. "Mommy!" I cheered and hugged her. I act like a little kid a lot. Plus I haven't seen her much because she takes all day shifts just to keep our apartment. I dragged her inside.

"Aunt Rachel!" Riley squealed and hugged my mom. Maya hugged my mom to. As well as everyone else. There was another knock at the door. Auggie ran to the door and there stood two old peeps. "Grandma! Grandpa!" He cheered and hugged the people. "Did you get me the money" Auggie whispered to his grandpa trying to act secret. "Right me better" He told him and handed Auggie a nice crisp $10 bill. Auggie turned to his grandma.

"Here's the cookies" She said and handed him a box. He handed her the money. "Here's $10". Maya and Riley hugged the strange older people. They looked at me curiously. "That's my daughter" Mom explained. They hugged my mom and I.

"Boy, it seems like just yesterday I had kids running around the house" Mr. Matthews said reminiscing. Maya, Riley, and I sat on a bench from the kitchen table. "Yeah wasn't it dad?" A really hot guy joked and tossed him a pair of keys. "Boing!" I said starstrucked. "That's my uncle Elena" Riley reminded me. Maya just looked at me clearly amused.

"Sweet I would be your aunt" I joked. The boy greeted Cory and the others and came over to us. "Josh" Maya greeted duly. He just nodded, probably because of how Maya gets. Then he looked at me. I couldn't find any words to say so I looked at my best friends for help. I nervously giggles. "That's Elena" Riley informed him. He looked at me confused.

"As in Elena who use to jump on everyone's backs when she was 3?" He questioned making me giggle. I nodded. "She still does it" Uncle Cory chimed in and then sat down on the couch. I rolled my eyes playfully. As Uncle Cory was talking, a man with the same dark brown hair and almost the same eyes walked in. He put his finger up to his lips telling us to not say anything. He sat next to Auggie.

"Gee Cor, thought you'd be happier to see me" He sighed. "Yay!!!!" Cory squealed. "Hehehey!" The man greeted and then hugged. Auggie finally got out from being stuck in the hug. "It's okay I'm alive!" He announced and ran to where mom, Aunt Topanga, and Uncle Cory's mom was. He greeted everyone else but us kids. "Hi uncle Shawn" Riley greeted. He looked conflicted. "Yeah hey kids" He muttered and went to greet my mom.

Rachel's Pov:

"Long time no see aye?" Shawn said and hugged me. I hugged back. "It's nice to see you too Shawn" I said genuinely. Him and Elena were my only reminders of Jack. "Do you know who is that brown haired girl?" He questioned, talking about my daughter.
