Paris let out a long sigh as he was dragged into the school gym. He really didn't want to be here.
"Stop sulking Paris." Lila told him. "This could be for the upcoming JS prom!"
"Isn't JS prom a few months away? " Paris asked.
"Oh come on, get excited!" We're finally juniors! We get to have fun and go out with cute people!" Lila exclaimed, her blue eyes gleaming with excitement.
"I'd rather go to concerts." He crossed his arms over his chest.
"Of course. Concerts are all you care about."
"Concerts are fun. You get to hang out with people, listen to music and-
"I get it Mr. Music Enthusiast." Lila muttered. "You're such a killjoy." She turned and left, wandering off to talk to other people.
Paris stared at her. What was she so upset about? She was the one who dragged him here and now left him. He will never understand girls.
He sighed and pulled out his phone. He plugged in his earphones and listened to music as he looked around the room. He was surprised to see a large number of students.
He spotted one of his friends in the crowd and shuffled over.
"Hey Paris." Frank said when he saw him.
"Hey. What's up?" He adjusted the volume of his phone to converse properly.
"What the hell are we supposed to be doing here?"
Paris shrugged. "I have no idea. Though Lila mentioned something about the JS prom."
"This better be important." Frank grumbled. "The officers wouldn't allow any of us to escape."
Paris raised his brows. "They're seriously keeping all of us here?"
Frank nodded. "Paul and I wanted to ditch, but the vice president found us."
That morning, the principal's voice had boomed through the speakers. He demanded the presence of the seniors and juniors in the school gym after class.
Like Frank -and most of the students in the room- Paris had wished to escape. He wanted to check on Sky's The Limit's new album in the music store. But of course, Lila had to drag him along.
Paris opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by a screech from a microphone.
"Oops. Oh my God, I'm so sorry." A voice followed after the noise dissipated.
Paris pulled off his earphones and shoved them in his pocket. That high pitched voice was clearly their president's. He turned his head toward her direction.
President Rae was standing on the stage with a microphone in her hand. She cleared her throat and tapped the microphone. "Good Afternoon, fellow students."
"Please don't let this be bullshit." He heard someone whisper behind him. Paris hoped the same.
"First of all, I apologize for keeping you guys here despite our busy schedules-"
Paris could see athletes nodding, they were probably late for their practice.
"-but hey, if it wasn't that important, we wouldn't be keeping you guys here, right?" she smiled at them.
"As some of you may have guessed, yes, this is about the upcoming JS prom!"
A mixture of cheers and groans were heard in the big room.
"Okay! JS prom is only 3 months away and we definitely need a lot of preparation to do. But first things first-" She grinned. "The dance."
The group of girls beside Paris let out squeals.
