Nico woke up to the usual loneliness and darkness of the Hades cabin. Lately, he’d taken to midnight walks just to feel the gentle caress of a breeze against his cheek. But even then, the son of Hades could not escape the burning desire inside of him, for every lake he passed reminded him of the beautiful son of Posiden, as did every fresh breeze. These feelings bubbling up inside him were not new, but seeing as how for years he had been able to push them down, them rearing their ugly heads again was quite a surprise. Nico pulled himself out of his thoughts as a ray of sunlight shone through the window. He groaned and pulled is gray transparent sheets over his eyes, dozing back off.
Meanwhile, Percy Jackson was just finishing pulling the covers taut on his bed, and grabbing his sword, ready for morning training. As her stumbled to his first session, he noticed The Son Of Hades was nowhere to be seen. This troubled him, as he was hoping to see Nico that day. Percy got it into his mind to look for him, and first checked his cabin. Sure enough, there was a pale figure lying on the bed tangled in sheets. Percy held his breath as he quietly approached the sleeping figure of Nico Di Angelo. His eyes were closed and his mouth hung slightly open as his chest rose and fell slowly. With every exhale, a gentle whistle made it’s way to Percy’s ears. He thought about how fragile he looked lying there, but quickly made an attempt to shake the thought from his mind, as Percy reminded himself he was not allowed to feel that way about Nico. Reluctantly, he reached down to gently shake a thin shoulder. “Wake up…” It came out as a hoarse whisper and Percy cleared his throat. “Wake up, Nico.” Nico shuffled in his sleep. “Five more minutes…” Percy rolled his eyes as her barely kept a grin from spreading across his face. “Nico, you have to get up.” Nico Di Angelo groaned and turned over. Finally, and with much difficulty it seems, he opened his eyes. He barely restrained the gasp forming in his throat. Percy’s tousled hair, the adorable ammused look on his face. He rolled out of bed, straight onto the floor. Percy burst out laughing behind him. The son of Hades pushed himself off of the ground and turned to face Percy, glaring playfully.
After his laughing had subsided, Percy raised an eyebrow. “Is this how you get up every morning?” Nico shook his head. This was most certainly NOT how her got up every morning. It wasn’t every morning an angel came to drag you out of bed. Nico slapped himself on the forehead. No, bad Nico. You’re not aloud to think that way! But he was only pleading with himself, as he knew her was completely inlove with Perseus Jackson. Percy face twisted into a confused expression as Nico rubbed his forehead where he had slapped himself. “Nico, don’t do that.” he said firmly. Nico looked up. “Why….?” Percy shuffled his feet. “Err…you’ll…hurt….yourself…?” It came out as more of a question. Nico felt a blush spread across the bridge of his nose. He (almost subconsciously) stepped up to take the Son Of Posiden’s wrists in his hands. “And you don’t want me to get hurt?” Nico cocked his head slightly to the left. Percy felt his hands getting sweaty. “Err…..no. I mean yes! I mean….” Nico let out an almost-giggle. “I get what you mean.” He tugged gently on Percy’s wrists, and Percy stepped closer. Nico reached out to pull Percy’s face up, but Percy stepped back, taking a deep breath. Nico frowned. “You know this can’t happen,” Percy stated. Nico shrugged. “Nobody’ll find out.” Percy furrowed his eyebrows. “But it’s not….we’re not…..” In one swift motion, Nico stepped forward and silenced him with a kiss. Percy responded immediately, a small groan escaping his lips as The son of Hades finally fell into his arms. Nico hands reached up to grasp Percy’s orange t-shirt, and pulled him closer. Percy’s arms snaked around Nico’s thin waist, and clasped there tightly, as if he’d never let go. He reached his foot behind him and kicked the door he had left ajar. It slammed shut with a sharp thud. In the almost complete darkness on the Hades cabin, Nico had to feel where he was going as he dragged Percy back towards the bed, breaking the kiss and pushing him down on it. Immediately, Percy’s body went cold, but flooded with warmth again as a now-shirtless Nico fell back upon him. Percy felt slightly chilled lips on his neck. He wanted more than anything to let Nico mark him as his, while her ran his hands through his shoulder-length black hair but Percy mustered all the will-power he could and stopped him. Nico pushed himself up from Percy and gave him a puzzled look. Percy took a deep breath. “Nico I’m not sure we should…..I mean…..it’s not supposed to…..” Nico brushed the hair out of Percy’s eyes with trembling fingers. “Tell me you love me.” Percy’s eyes widened. “I-I……” Nico looked at him expectantly. “I-I love you Nico.” Percy knew he shouldn’t love Nico, he should be more responsible than this….he- Percy’s thoughts her silenced as Nico bit down softly on a special place on his neck. Percy heard rushing water. Nico continued his pursuits until a small groan escaped from Percy’s lips. Nico smirked triumphantly and turned to lay next to him, the red mark on his neck in full view. Nico buried his face in the crook of Percy’s neck. “I love you too Percy.” Needless to say, nobody saw Percy or Nico until much later that day.
