It was a cold and dreary night. She didn't know why she had declined Marks offer of a ride home from work. It had been a clear night when he asked her and she had politely declined even though her car had broken down the previous morning knowing of his interest for her she had no desire to encourage it so she had insisted that it was only a 15 minuet walk home and that she rather enjoyed walking. So here she was, walking in the pouring rain, soaked to her skins and dreaming of a nice hot bath for when she got home. She had just past the last bend in the road right before the trail that would take her home when she heard something. It was something that was on the very edge of her hearing so she wasn't sure if she had just imagined it. Probably, she thought to herself, it is most likely just a squirrel. After all it was a dark night with the moon covered by the clouds and darkness always made her jumpy. She had now entered onto the trail and would be home within 5 minuets at her current pace of walking. When she got into her house and stripped of her coat and shoes she went straight to the bathroom and turned on the water for a hot bath. Walking into the kitchen she grabbed a glass from out of her dishwasher and went to the tap to fill it but found that someone was already there.
Hope you enjoyed it!
