"She will be alright mister" the ER said kindly to Mr Carls as the elderly man sat on the side walk tears streaming down his face. "She has just fainted from the shock I am sure. We will bring her to the hospital as at her age fainting can mean more but my boys are sure its just shock. Shall I bring you over to the hospital?" Slightly reassured George stood up and thanking the ER he asked for a few minuets. Walking over to the police officer in charge he inquired of the death of Jane Rawth. "Well looks like murder to me. No sign of breaking and entry though, and nothing was stolen from what we can tell. We will have to talk to your wife when she regains consciousness." Nodding He walked back over to the ER and asked to go to the hospital now.
"How are you feeling dearest?"George asked his wife who was lying in the hospital bed with a glass of water, "They said you can go home anytime you would like".Mary gave a sad smile to her beloved husband, "That's after we go to the police station though...", She knew very well that she would have to speak to the police after all she WAS the one who found the body. "No, its alright honey. I talked to the Officer in charge And he said he would come to our house later today.". He knew better then to ask questions himself at this exact moment as she was still weak, so he would just leave it to the police officers. It would be no good to ask her the same questions twice.
The drive home was quiet. A police officer was driving them home as George had ridden to the hospital with the ER. Once they finally arrived home he took her to the living room and then proceeded into the kitchen to turn on the kettle of fora cup of her favorite Chai Tea. There was a knock at the door. He knew it must be the police so he popped his head into the living room, "Darling they are here." He told his wife who was now staring at the opposite wall from the large, plush, brown sofa that she was sitting on. He could tell that she was trying to grasp all that had happened in the last 8 hours. Opening the door he welcomed the officers in and ask if they would like a cup of tea or glass of water. "I'll take some water if it isn't to much trouble" the officer in charge said smiling but the second officer declined. He showed them the living room and came back with his wife's tea and a glass of water. Looking at the officer he could tell that he was gathering his thoughts. "I am the officer in charge of this investigation, my name is Bryant Harold. You may call me Officer Bryan. I just need to ask you a few questions regarding Miss Jane Rawth." He spoke in a kind tone but there was a definite firmness and authority behind it. Nodding Mrs Carls gave him her full attention. The officer began, "So ma'am would you mind telling me about your relationship with the young lady and what you knew of her?Do you know if she was in a relationship? How closer were you with her?". So thus She began, "Jane was a darling. She moved hereabout a year and a half ago and we hit off great from the beginning. She was always a doll to me, asking me how my week had been, running a errand or two for me when my George was out with the car. She would even come over for dinner sometimes or go shopping with me. We got on Splendidly. It was just another morning. I got up for my 6am run and when I went past her house I saw water on the street. I knew it wasn't from the gutter as there was to much of it. So I walked up to her door and tried the handle, which much to my surprise was open. She never left it open. She isn't seeing anyone nor has had any recent relationships, and being the cautious woman she was she never liked the idea of people being free to just walk into her home unannounced. And when I walked in the floor was covered in water..."By this point her voice was a mere whisper and she had silent tears running down her face; but she carried on. "I went to the bathroom and found the tub running and a towel and book on the counter, she was drawing a bath. I went to her bedroom hoping she had just fallen asleep but I couldn't find her. So I looked in the house and then I saw her in the kitchen. She was seated at the table. There was a cup of water in front of her. But I think what scared me most wasn't the fact that she had her throat slit open and tape on the wound. I think it was the fact that someone had taken a knife and drawn a smile on her face." by this point she was in full out tears and in her husbands arms who was rubbing her back, "I couldn't speak or move Ijust stood there and then I looked at the wall, and it read, in her blood, 'Sorry doesn't fix it now does it?'"Mrs Carls could no longer speak from the sobs that were now being wrenched from her. The offices looked at her in deepest sympathy, they didn't want to go on as they could see how distraught she was but they had to continue, "We just have one more question, but you might be able to answer us Mr. Carls" Officer Bryan said sympathy in his voice but with authority, "Do you know anyone she had a quarrel with? Anyone that might have had something against her? Or even something for her?". George shook his head sadly, "No not that I know of, she was quite friendly and didn't know many people. Her family died a few years back in a car accident so other then us she only really knew her work colleges and a few friends from back home in California, where she was born and raised.". With that the officers heads shot up. "Wait... did you say 'born and raised in California?' ?" He nodded, "Well yes she was. She moved hereafter she finished her training as hostage negotiator at Harvard she decided that she loved England and then she went back to America, settled a few things there and moved up here. Why is something odd about that?" The officers looked at each other with bewildered expressions and then turned to him, "Well yes actually, because we have here in her record that she was born and raised in Wales."
