Pain
No more than a word.
And yet it perfectly describes the aftermath of most tragedies.
It simplifies the feelings of the abandoned, scared, lonely, guilty, remorseful, injured, abused, and the ill.
But no matter how simplified, pain never under exaggerates the feelings experienced in that moment.
Feelings that inspire tears or draw blood curdling screams from their unwilling victims.
Pain is a very powerful, rarely recognized word.
But pain is not victorious, for wherever there is pain there will always be healing.
