7-year-old Louis Tomlinson sat at the vanity in his parent's bedroom, his little feet swaying back and forth as he applied mascara.
He hummed to the radio blasting pop music from the stereo on the dresser across the room as he flicked the black brush on his lashes. Once he was finished, he closed the tube of mascara then batted his lashes in the mirror and smiled. He felt pretty...he felt like himself. He rummaged back into his mother's makeup and pulled out a small purple tube that Louis could easily pick out as lipstick.
He took off the cap and turned it to make the lipstick pop out. He leaned into the mirror, puckering his pink lips as he applied the lipstick, turning his lips purple and shiny. Louis rubbed his lips together and made a pop noise with them.
He examined his new face. Purple lips, blushed cheeks, smokey eyes with long lashes. He smiled triumphantly.
"You look gorgeous LouLou" he said to himself, giggling.
Before he could reach into the makeup bag again, the door to the bedroom opened and Louis jumped ten feet in the air as he turned around and saw his mother.
She gasped and ran to him. "Louis, baby! You went through my makeup?"
"Sorry mommy, just wanted to try it. Wanted to feel pretty" Louis pouted his purple lips and dropped his head shamefully.
"Oh, baby" his mother cooed, bending down to his small frame. "Its okay, you look very pretty. Just next time don't do it without my permission."
Louis looked up with big and hopeful eyes. "You think I look pretty mommy?"
His mother smiled. "Of course, sweetheart. You're already beautiful without all the makeup, but you look extra beautiful."
A big smile grew on Louis' face. "Thank you mommy."
His mom smiled and patted his head, opening her mouth to talk, but a big gasp was heard from the door. The two turned their head to see Louis' father standing there, eyes wide with shock, but flaming with anger.
"What the hell is on your face Louis?!" he yelled. "Oh my God, is that what I think it is?"
"Yes, its makeup" Louis said quietly, shrinking in his spot fearfully.
"Take that shit off now boy! Boys don't wear makeup! What the hell were you thinking?!" he scolded while pointing to the attached bathroom.
Louis bottom lip wobbled, blue eyes glossing over with tears. He jumped from his seat and ran to the bathroom.
Louis' mother stood up gobsmacked. "What the hell, Troy?! Don't yell at him, he did nothing wrong! There's nothing wrong with wearing makeup!"
Troy scoffed. "The hell there is! He is a boy, Jay! He has a damn penis! Boys don't wear fucking makeup!"
"Some do" Jay said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Well our son won't be one of those! He isn't a pixie faggot!"
Jay gasped at her husband's words and shook her head, "I cannot believe you just said that. Don't you dare call our son that and don't you damn dare yell at him for something like that. You're sleeping on the couch tonight" she said then walked into the bathroom where Louis was crying at the sink, wiping off the makeup.
"Whatever, I'm going to the gym" he grumbled, grabbing his keys off the dresser and leaving.
Jay sighed, taking a seat on the toilet as she watched her son take off the makeup. Her heart broke seeing her little boy so sad.
"I-I'm sorry mommy. I won't do it again, I-I've been a bad boy. I'll n-never put on makeup a-again" Louis blubbered, sobbing with tears running down his face.
