"Where are we now?" Hadley asks looking up from her book.
"End of Arizona" I answer moving my way into the right lane of the highway.
It has been 7hours since we left our friends in sunny California and now heading back to our family in New York. Hadley had been laying down on the back seat, reading and singing along to the music blasting in the car as I struggled to hear Zim, our GPS, to tell me where to go. I merge onto I-15N and a sign tells me that now i'm in Utah.
"Utah! Yay!" Hadley yells kicking up her feet with hands in air.
I smile and tell her to come up front with me.
"Can you believe that our parents let us do this?" She asks climbing over to the passenger seat.
"No but it took a lot of persuading, blood, and tears." I say flipping my head back dramatically.
She laughs while rolling down the window. "Luckly your parents are my Godparents so my dad said yeah."
"Luckly," I repeat. Hadley is my cousin and Godsister plus my best friend. She had the ying and I had the yang on my wrist. We are unseperable.
"Want some coffee? Its still warm," Hadley takes a sip. "Still taste good"
"Isnt that where we keep some pee?" I say grinning at the car in front of us.
Her eyes widen in disgust and she throws the cup out the window." Frig!!! Oh my freaking gosh, are you serious?" She spits out the window a couple of times before looking at me.
I try keeping my laugh in, but i fail and start laughing. "Oh-- my--- your faacceee!" I cant stop laughing so i slow down my driving. The cars behind us honked but I ignored them, Hadleys reaction was more important
She folds her arms across her chest and glares at me. "Reed thats not funny. I could have drank that."
"But.. but.. its funny fooling you. You make these faces that are UNbelievable."
"Shut up you butthole. Now we haveo to get more coffee."
"I thought you werent drinking coffee anymore."
"I quit when we brought some in Dunkin Donuts. The smell was incredible."
I laughed. "30 minutes to reach Colorado."
"Finally. Our next stop."
