Annie sat outside her grandparent's cottage under her favorite tree. She sighed as the wind toyed with her hair.
"Can we get going? It's cold out here!" A voice complained.
"Just a little longer..." Annie said looking at her friend in the tree. He perched on a low branch near her and slumped down. Crow has always been impatient and anxious when they were outside when it was dark, but Annie didn't have to ask why. One day, when Annie was about seven years old, she and her grandparents took a walk in the woods. She ran off, and saw someone laying on the ground. He was injured, so she helped him out. Luckily, her grandmother is a retired nurse. But he had something odd about him. He has wings like a bird. They were dark gray, so Annie decided to call him Crow.
She stood up, "Okay," she said "Let's go in"
