Stranded

Chapter 2

Hunter was home, back in the same old house he has grown up in all his life. He hasn't been to the house in 3 years because of training. I opened the front door and yelled, "I'm home!" Mom came running down the hall and I open my arms for a big bear hug. We hugged for it seem like forever. Dad joined the hug, and my two brothers and sister came running into the hug. The whole family was standing hugging each other, now that they were back together. We had a huge feast, everything homemade. The table was covered with the best food I have had In a very long time. There was corn, beef, bread, peas, ham, potatoes, and my favorite food of all, spaghetti . "Mother, that was the best meal I have ever had!"
"Oh don't mention it honey." But this was the hard part.
"Mom, Dad, I have some big news to tell you!"
"Yes son, what is it?"
"In the next month I am being recruited to join the navy, I passed everything between the last 3 years and they want me to be I the navy."
"O my lord!"
"Son, I ..."
It was so hard to sleep that night. Everything was going through my head, I mean I am only 21 years old, I can make my own decisions. But to my mom and dad, I am just there baby.
Morning approached, I probably could sleep all day if I wanted, but I got up to go on a run. My mom was already up having a cup of coffee.
"Hey mom."
"Hi honey, how are u this fine morning?"
"Tired, I didn't sleep well."
"Then u should go back to bed."
"Nah, I am going on a run, be back in an hour." During the run I saw horses, sheep, cows, chickens, pigs, and goats. The state has changed, Wisconsin has changed. The training was in Michigan, and home was Madison, Wisconsin. When I arrived home after my run, my breakfast was sitting on the table, ready for me to eat. My sister Crystal, came in, in her pajamas. She looked at me like I was crazy. "I just woke up, where have you been?"
"I went on a run for an hour, I don't like to sleep in." She rolled her eyes at me, annoyed. I ate my breakfast silently, looking at the newspaper. Lots have happened, the president has a lot on his hand right now. The war and others thing to hard to explain.
