Chapter 1: F*ck My Life

Nevaeh POV

"If you continue to spend the next two years on your ponytail, we'll surely be late" Candy rushed me.

I know I don't make the best attempts to look nice for that prison, but I could at least appear presentable, right?

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, whatever. I'm done" I grabbed my bag and key from my dresser, exiting my room and going down the stairs.

"Finally", she breathed. Every morning she'd rush me to get to school, even on days we didn't ride together. She was my best friend and all, but the days we drove to school together were the worst.

The drive to school is about a ten minute one and she'd still make me leave at least 25 minutes before we actually needed to. She called it being punctual, I called it being impatient.

Let me rephrase, Impatient to see a certain someone.

*

In the time that I sat here thinking to myself, I failed to notice that we were already in our school parking lot. It wasn't until I heard a knock on the passenger window and saw that Candy was out the car that I figured it out. She shook her head as I scurried to retrieve my bag from the backseat.

"Every morning Vaeh"

I laughed. It was true, I'd always get lost in a trance just thinking about nothing.

"Remind me, why are we friends again?" she teased.

"Because I pushed that girl off the monkey bars that made you cry in the fourth grade." I pointed out.

"She was a true bitch" Candy scrunched her nose.

"You're welcome" I cheesed,opening my locker.

She began to ramble on about Jason, her 'friends with benefits'. Although I thought they were something more.

All of a sudden, she stopped talking. Her eyes looking behind me and her mouth now formed a smile.

I furrowed my eyebrows, turning around just to see Jason, Chris, and Dameon making their way towards us. I rolled my eyes turning back around.

Speak of the devil.

Every girl at my school who was gullible enough, swooned at those three boys. Now let me tell you something, I am not gullible.

I used to think the same for Candy when we used to roll our eyes at their presence. That was until she and Jason got stuck doing a project together and then came this 'friends with benefits' thing.

God, I miss the old days.

Now, if I happen to see something and make a comment, she'll reply with something on the lines of, "C'mon they're not that bad."

Yeah okay.

"So, will you let me take you to the dance?" Jason held out a rose to her with a smirk on his face.
