Camelot
The small boy hated the rain; he understood that it helps the trees grow, but did it have to come when he was asleep?
Lighting cracks and thunder rolls, jerking him out of his sleep. Daddy and Regina were always telling him that if he was frightened during a storm he could come to Regina or his rooms, Roland decided on the first, which was closer.
He raced down the hall as fast as his padded feet could carry him, gripping his stuffed monkey as another flash of light illuminates the corridor. When Roland got to Gina's room, he bolted for the bed - climbing over the trunk at the foot of it and launching himself over into the middle. He snuggles up next to the queen, who smelled like cinnamon and apples - unlike the other ladies who smelled of various other things.
Closing his eyes, Roland pretended that he was back in the comfortable woods at home, or like in Henry's storybook where they were adventurers.
He felt a soft hand trace his face and rest on his cheek. He settled his fingers in hers and whispered
"I love you, Regina."
" I love you too, my little outlaw." She replied.
