I woke up to complete darkness. There was a faint echo of a high-pitched laugh that worked up my anxiety. I started breathing heavily and put my hand in front of my face to uncover myself from the thin sheet wrapped around me. I was in an unfamiliar, dark room, only lit by a few candles across the room, but it was just enough to see. There was only a white chair in the middle of the room, where it looked like someone had been sitting and watching me. I jumped when I saw that there were three other people covered in sheets to my left. The one closest to me had blood where the face was, so I uncovered it to find my best friend. "John, oh my God," I whispered to myself. He was dead. I wanted out of here. I got up and walked to the door straight ahead to find drawings on the wall. Creepy drawings, one was four hanged people on a tree, another just a creepy face that I couldn't even stand to look at. I quickly opened the door, but the laughing got closer and louder, and I saw the shadow of a guy in a joker costume, along with the sound of jingling bells. To this I near sprinted back to the bed, covering myself up again. I made sure to leave a little opening so I could see John. My breathing was out of control and I feared I wouldn't be able to stop if that guy came in. Shortly after, he did and I was able to stop. He made a weird sound that made want to gouge my own eyes out, and that laugh, I hated it, I hated so much. I saw him drag John off the bed and out of the room, slamming the door on the way out. I wanted to cry. I had no idea what was happening or what was going to happen. I got up again and ran to the door and opened it, trying to be as quiet as possible. I actually walked out this time, and went to the stairs, but the guy was coming back. I didn't go back to the room, but instead ran down the hall. Thankfully, there was a room in which I walked into, while I watched the guy run to the room I was previously in. I shut the door slowly and turned around. There was a small bathroom with the door cracked, and I could here a little girl crying. I though she might have been in the same position as me, so I wanted to ask. I slowly pushed open the door, to find a girl that looked like she was maybe 10 years old kneeling in the bathtub covering her face. I quietly said "Excuse me," as I tapped her shoulder. "GET AWAY! GET AWAY FROM ME!" she screamed as she inhumanely crawled towards me. This made me fall to the ground as I screamed "I'M SORRY" while I backed away as fast as I could. The joker guy came out of the room, so I ran to the closet next to it before he could see me. He creepily skipped down the hallway doing that cringe-worthy laugh again. He loudly said "What's wrong, my darling?" as he walked in the room. The girl cried "I saw someone." And the man sarcastically replied with "Oh you saw someone, did you?" As soon as he said that I ran as fast as I could to the stairs, pausing when I saw another sheet-covered body laying in the floor, then continued running down the stairs. I turned when I got to the next flight of stairs, ready to go down, but didn't when I saw a nappy headed old lady with a bloody blue night gown on, standing at the bottom. Instead, I ran into the bedroom with the door open, and closed it when I went in. I sat down on the bed for a short rest to control myself. I then heard the joker man's bells as he dramatically enhanced the words "Where are you?" as if he were playing hide-n'-seek with a 5 year old. He passed the bedroom, again making that horrible sound I couldn't stand. There was some shuffling around outside of the door, and he ran past it again. After a few minutes of silence, I opened the door to the hallway, making sure no one was around. I tiptoed to the stairs where the lady was standing, but she wasn't there anymore. All I saw was the chandelier swinging above me. I got down the stairs, and to my relief, I saw the front door. I got so close to it, but I heard the annoying jingle bells again, and turned to find the joker guy sitting in a leather rocking chair in the living room. I stared for a second, plotting how I could get out without being seen or heard. He abruptly turned his head and clearly saw me, then laughed. One thing I didn't think I'd observe about him, was that he had a huge black handlebar mustache. His appearance was very displeasing. After registering all of the thoughts in my mind, I ran the short distance to the door, but it was locked from the outside. I then ran into kitchen that was filled with garbage and terrible smells, into the dining room, then into an empty room with a girl on the couch. She had a dead cat in her hands and was petting it, while she mumbled things under her breath. I didn't even bother to mess with her, I just ran into the next room with a long hallway. It got really quiet all of the sudden, and I continued to walk down the dark hallway, that had an unexpected turn. I took the turn, and a lady screaming came sprinting towards me. "WHAT DO YOU WANT? WHY ARE YOU SO CURIOUS?" and the ugly woman attacked me, holding my throat to the ground. The joker guy came along with a knife, as the lady eased off of me saying "Should've stayed in your room, little boy." And the lasting I saw was the creepy joker dude violently stabbing me to death.
