I woke up that night with a start. Nightmares again. I could see her face as she slipped away, I could see the life drain out of her eyes as she took her last breath. I hadn't had one that descriptive in months. I decided to go for a walk, figuring my mother wouldn't care. She was probably busy with bills, that is if she wasn't arguing on the phone with my father or passed out on the couch. I pulled on a hoodie and slipped out the front door.

I had been walking for the past ten minutes when I found her. I was walking past the record shop in the middle of town when I heard sniffling, and the dull blast of music. Curious, I walked down the alley the sounds were originating from. "H-hello?" I asked and the sniffles stopped. In a heartbeat a girl was raging towards me, a girl I knew no other to be then Andrea Foster. "What the hell do you think you're doing? I told you to get you're drunken ass back home before I kick it all the way up to-" she stopped, mouth slightly open. "Oh, sorry. I thought you were someone else." She wasn't the only one shocked, I couldn't believe the situation myself. The most popular girl in school, here, bruised and bleeding. Oh my god she was bruised and bleeding. "Wh-what the hell happened?" I asked, glancing over her skinny form. Her mouth was bleeding and her clothes torn, a blackish purple circle enveloping one of her eyes. Her breathing was ragged as she said "what the hell do you mean? Hey, wait you're the kid who lives down the street, uh.. Matthew, right?" I sighed softly "mason, but yeah." "Oh. What are you even doing out here? It's the middle of the night." I crossed my arms. "I could ask you the same thing." "I was attacked, nearly raped, and beaten." She spit out bitterly and I bit my lip. "Um I- I'm sorry I- here." I stripped off my hoodie and handed it to her. She nodded and took it, the rather large hoodie enveloping her thin frame. I looked at her, who was still looking at the ground. "D-do you want me to take you home? I- it's right down the way, not much more than fifteen minutes away if we walk. I mean we would have to walk because I don't have a car but you know-" Andrea cut me off. "Stop, you don't have to be nervous. I'm fine, I don't feel like going home. Melissa won't care, she's probably making out with her boyfriend, like always." I knew she was referring to her mom and nodded. "You- you shouldn't be here alone, though. Come back to my place, it's warm. My mother won't care. It'll be fine." She laughed slightly and looked up at me. "You're cute, kid. Thanks for the offer, but it's okay. I'll be fine." I stepped towards her "fine, but we're going out for coffee." I grabbed her wrist and marched her down the street. And that my friends, is how I first met Andrea Foster.

How did you like the first real part?!! Who do you think Mason's dream was about? Who beat Andrea up?
