I woke up to the threatening sound of the alarm clock. Hunting me with every beat.
I turned it off as I sat down contemplating the ceiling. Not wanting to get up I pushed the bed
sheets to a side. I stood up a few inches from my bed and sat back down with my hand on my
face. I hated Monday mores than anything, it always found a way to get under my skin. I sighed
and stretched one last time.
Finally, I got up to take a shower. When I walked out of the bathroom I found my brothers
running from side to side.
"What are you doing?"
"Looking for my shoes." answered Fernando followed by ann "Mm-hmm".
Fernando was eleven. The type of kid who rather be stuck in front of a video game all day.
He tried to survive middle school but his laziness was making it getting in the way.
I felt a tug on my shirt, I looked down. Carlos was trying to get my attention. "Isa have you seen
my shoe" he hold up a black shoe. I laughed "I sure have."
"Where?"
"On your foot silly" he looked down and we both laughed.
We finish getting dressed and we walked down stairs. Sat down at the counter waiting
for breakfast. Mom was making pancakes and Dad was looking for his tie.
We all ate breakfast. "Okay so this nexts few months I'll be coming home late around 9. I have
a lot of work to do before the Holidays. I hate leaving you alone all day." My mom voice quivered
as she spoke.
"Fernando's and Carlos's Godparent called last night they asked if they could stay over for two
months because of the holliday's. That their children came out of school yesterday and they
wanted to Fernando and Carlos to go for vacation to Florida. What do you think" my dad
suggested.
"That's great. But what about Isabella?"
"I have to got to New York Honey, I don't know. You're going to start coming home late. And I'm
not going to be here for a couple of weeks. You know what! She could take care of the house?"
I sat straight up "Yeah mom don't worry. I got this. Go easy mom I'll be fine."
"Are you sure? You know what okay no parties and no boys. I'll pick you boys by lunch so you
can go with you godparents. Isa take care, come straight home after school. You hear me!"
"Yeah mom don't worry." I got up and hugged everyone. I woke up to the threatening
sound of the alarm clock. Hunting me with every beat.
