The first sign was the smell of smoke. It came from downstairs in the living room. I ran downstairs and toward the living room when I heard shouting.
"All you ever do is criticize me!"
"I do not!" It was my parents voices.

I peeked in and saw them shouting at each other and then they started pushing and shoving.
"All you do is lay around and drink day and night!" shouted my mother.
"You don't work or anything, so you have no right to criticize me!" my dad shouted back. Then I saw the fire blazing brightly in the background. I looked back at my parents just as my father shoved my mother straight into the fire.

I screamed, "MOTHER!" Then my dad turned around and saw me in the doorway. His face was pale as he realized what he did. I ran upstairs and into my room, shutting the door behind me. I slid to the ground and started to cry.

Then I felt the heat behind the door and immediately jumped up. I grabbed my most precious thing in my room and ran to the window. I opened the window and looked down. I was on the 3rd floor of our house, but I jumped anyways. I landed hard on the ground just as the fire blazed out my bedroom window. I looked up and saw my entire house in flames. I heard the sirens just as it started raining and I blacked out.
