I slightly started to panic.
I nodded and waited for him to just get it over with. He closed his eyes first, and leaned in. Once we were close enough, I leaned in and we pecked on the lips for literally one second-- nothing more, nothing less. Of course my nerves were freaking out and my stomach was doing flips, but besides that, it was a peck on the lips, short and simple. It was so awkward though.
Alex smiled a little at me and I turned away. You could feel the awkward energy form between us. Some of the fans even noticed, but for some, it still wasn't enough.
That was awkward.
Awkwarddd
You didn't kiss long enough!
I can physically feel the awkwardness in the air.
Sorry for making y'all do that. It was awkward.
After reading through the comments, Alex finally spoke up. "Geez, there is no pleasing you guys!" he said with a laugh. "Umm, well that's pretty much it! Look out for new music soon. Bye you guys, I love you all!"
I awkwardly waved bye to the camera. Once we ended it, I stood up, not looking at him. I grabbed my purse, looking for my rental keys.
Facing my back, Alex asked me, "Hey, where are you going?"
Still not looking at him, I said, "I'm going to Cam's (local coffee shop), you wanna come?" I offered, trying to be nice.
"Um, yeah. Let's take my car," he offered, grabbing his keys off the dresser.
"Cool," I said, sucking in my cheeks and rocking on my heels.
I followed him out of the house to his car. When we got into his car, I still didn't say anything. As we were driving to Cam's, I sat silently and looked out the window.
Alex looked over to me and began to speak.
"Hey, what's up? You haven't talked since the live stream. What's wrong?"
I looked over at him. "Nothing's wrong, I just don't feel like talking, that's all," I said, turning my head back to the window.
"Are you avoiding me? Is this because of that kiss?"
My face reddened. "No.. That? That was just a kiss, no big deal," I said.
"What? Just a kiss? Wasn't that your first one?" Alex asked, with a semi-upset expression on his face.
I looked over at him. "Well yeah, but it doesn't count to me. It wasn't a real kiss!"
Alex smiled. "Well would you like to try again?" he asked, making a kissy face toward me.
I playfully slapped him hard on the arm. "Shut up," I said with a laugh.
There was no way I could stay awkward around this kid. We pulled into the coffee shop parking lot and walked in, immediately greeted by the owner, Cam.
"Alex! Maria! How are you guys?"
Alex waved while I said, "We're doing good, Cam. How's the business today?"
While wiping down a table, he says, "Today was pretty busy. What can I get you guys? The usual?"
"Yes please! Thanks Cam!"
We walked over to our usual spot, and I sat across from Alex. We were normal customers here. I make sure to come in at least once whenever I fly in.
"Whatcha doin'?" I asked, making myself comfortable in my seat, pulling out my phone.
Alex, still looking at him phone said, "Twitter."
