The Last Chance

The bell signalled the end of first period. I couldn't wait to get out of there, looking down at my timetable 'free period' I folded up the paper and stuffed it in my pocket when something hit me. I should say someone. A girl. A beautiful girl.
"Well hello there beautiful, I would be annoyed if it was someone else but who can blame you for falling for me, you've probably heard of me so there's no need-
"Sorry for bumping into you but I'm late for class" with that she walked away
I heard someone laughing behind me, I didn't have to turn around to know it was Reece.
"Hey man you just had to go all I'm so hot and every girl wants to be with me" he fell into step with me
"Shut up we will never speak of this again but who is she? She wasn't here  when I left an trust me I would remember seeing a girl like that around" he chuckled and shook his head
"You have no chance man. I wouldn't even go there every single guy in this school has tried and failed she's not interested in anyone."
"No see that's where your mistaken all of these guys aren't me and I will not fail! I mean who can turn this down?"
"I believe her cutting you off and walking away was her way of telling you that she's not interested. Anyway are you coming to Big D's party tonight? Because I know of one girl who's been waiting to see you that's going" the raised his left eyebrow
"Only one? There's more than that surely! And I don't care about Melissa Anderson. She was fun for a while but now she's just become clingy, I've been trying to avoid her all day! She just doesn't get it I'm a player I don't stick to one girl and if I choose to, which is never, Melissa Anderson will never be that girl. Period." I took out a cigarette and lit it. I puffed out rings from my mouth.
"Seriously? From a guy who is the second smartest kid in school you're going to smoke indoors? Do you have a death wish? What did baldy say to you went you went into his office anyway" Reece shook his head still eyeing my cigarette
"He just said that- wait hold up how do you know I'm the second smartest kid?" I frowned at him whilst he shrugged his shoulders
"I'm your best mate it's my job to know these things about you" he sighed and took the cigarette from my hand, stepped on it, picked it up and threw it in the bin.
"Hey man what the fuck is wrong with you? I hadn't finished! Some best friend your turning out to be" I started walking towards my locker
"Yeah I'm a great best friend. I'm keeping you from getting lung cancer and getting in trouble, I know you can't get in trouble anymore"
"Again, how do you know these things I only found out and I haven't even told you or anyone"
"I'm your best friend man I know you and-
"You were listening at the door weren't you?" I smirked when I saw I was right
"No of course not I'm not you man I know that it's rude to listen to conversations that don't concern you"
I snorted "yeah right, I know you Reese I'm your best friend but back to this party is there going to be booze?"
He gave me a dead panned look " are you serious? Of course there's going to be booze it's a party!"
"Alright, just making sure I was going to supply some but now there's no need" I rolled my eyes at him
"Don't roll your eyes at me man, you know I hate it when you do that!"
"Why do I remind you of someone? Maybe I remind you of the girl you've been pinning for but can never get" I laughed out loud but that soon turned to a cough as my breath got knocked out of me
"Jessie! Oh My Gosh! Like I haven't seen you in ages, where have you been? You didn't call me or text me or even come round to my house? You're no fun anymore! But I forgive you because I know you were probably busy defending my honour to all those boys warning them that I'm yours and only yours!"
Two words.
Melissa Anderson.
"Melissa-could-you-let-go?" I breath out heavily
"Oh baby are you okay? I didn't mean to hurt you I was just upset with my sweet sugar daddy!"
I breathed out, closed my eyes and turned around " Melissa I'm not your baby, I'm not your sweet sugar daddy and I'm not your boyfriend! What happened that night was great but it wasn't amazing I've had better girls who have more experience and who the hell do you think you are coming up to me asking questions? You don't own me, I don't like you so fuck off and leave me the hell alone! Got it?" My voice was dark and I could see that I had scared her, there were tears in her eyes but I didn't feel any remorse
"I know you love me and right now you probably just need your space so I'll go,I'll see you at lunch sugar plums" with that she spun on her heels and walked down the hall her friends struggling to keep up with her. I just stared my mouth agape.
"Ryder that was a bit harsh man, you didn't have to say those things to her but then again she is one crazy bitch,"
He chuckled slapping me on my back "I'll catch you later man I've got to go"
Snapping out of my shock I nod my head towards him. Turning back and getting my stuff for the next lesson. Stupid Anderson. Calling me by my first name like I gave her permission. Stupid school. I slammed my locker shut an started making my way to class. Stupid teachers. Stupid subjects.why do I need school anyway? I have fighting, I get money from those fights I don't need this. Who is that girl anyway? She thinks she can just come in when I'm not around and steal my title of being the smartest right under my nose! Well she's stupid too. Pretty or not, no one steals what's mine.

Especially a girl.
