Why?
Jeffrey sat beside his other half Jeremy, staring at the redhead who always sat in the front row. For some reason, he hated her. She was so out there being all buddy-buddy with so many people to the point she was careless with her actions. She probably didn't care if she insulted one of her "friends."
Also, what's up with her clothes? The school had a strict dress code, yet she breaks all of them practically everyday. Today, it's a sleeveless button up checkered red romper with the shorts almost so short he could almost see her panties. Her legs don't help her at all. She was one of those girls who thought they looked pretty and cute no matter what they wore.
It was the last period of the day, and he finally felt his frustration boiling. All day he saw her due to being cursed in having her in all his classes. And she always managed to be the best in all of them! Especially gym. Third period gym was Jeffrey's favorite class out of the entire day because he was free to show off as he liked. He used to be the class star what with his ability to run the mile in under five minutes, had the fastest shuttle run time, and did the most push ups and sit ups. All of his scores were beyond average for a boy his age.
Then came little miss perfect. At first, he didn't have her in his gym class, but she got transferred due to a mishap in the program. She managed to beat his scores by one second. She managed to beat his records by one extra point. He went from being the class start to the class's second best. And he didn't like it. So Jeffrey trained himself to try to be better than the girl, but she was always one step ahead of him.
Jeremy nudged his arm. "It's rude to stare," he whispered.
He glanced at his brother before continuing to stare at the redhead. "Tell her to wear some leggings under her shorts," came the murmur.
"Don't tell me you're going to complain again. The principal told you to mind your business." Jeffrey knew Jeremy didn't mean to remind him rudely because they could never be mean to each other.
"I can't help it. The way she gets away with dressing like that drives me nuts. Any other girl can't do it, but she can." He rested his chin on his fist. "Don't you think it's unfair?"
His brother shrugged. "Not really. She should be able to do what she wanted. We did that, remember?"
"Oh yeah." Jeremy was supposed to be in AP classes but decided to stay with Jeffery instead. Neither one could imagine being apart. "Still. I just don't get it."
The other sighed. "Then I give up."Jeremy returned to taking his notes, and Jeffery continued to stare at the redhead.
He's obsessed.
Jeremy set down his pencil to rest his cheek on his palm, his gaze on the girl his brother stared at. Not once had Jeffrey talked to her. Not once had Jeremy seen his brother be near her. They always watched from afar, but they never got close. It's always been just him and Jeffrey. Jeffrey and him. The Stevenson twins. That's how they were known in the school. But nobody knew them.
In some way, he agreed the girl got better treatment than the other students what with her way of dressing, but neither he nor his brother could do anything about it. Jeffrey already complained not long ago, and the principal simply said she could do as she wanted. So in all honesty, Jeremy didn't like her that much either. He couldn't tell his brother, though. If he did, Jeffrey would come up with some crazy plan to expose who the redhead really was and get him involved. Sure he may not like her, but he doesn't want to hurt her either. A girl's a girl. If a boy hurts a girl, the boy would get in trouble.
The teacher began to pass out papers as she explained the main idea of the project. Apparently, the class had to split into groups of three and select an area in their city to create a mini model of said area. Then, they had to write an essay explaining what made that area so great to draw in people to move there. Murmurs rose in the classroom, and the students were already buzzing with excitement to get with the people they want to work with.
