Sleepless Night

I can hear the wind howling outside

This storm just doesn't seem like it will ever subside

Some find it terrifying

While others find it mesmerising

The rumbling is getting really loud

While the sky is covered with a deep black cloud

Another flash of light travels across the sky

I can't seem to sleep no matter how hard I try

This storm is what is keeping me awake

I don't know how much more of this I can take

The rumble is growing into a boom

This storm seems to only bring doom and gloom

Storms like this give me a terrible fright

I can tell this is going to be a sleepless night
