Chapter 6 : Drake POV

Chapter 6

DRAKE POV

I watched the human as she sat on the rock by the waterfall that night, I heard what she said about her father and I felt the sadness in her voice. When I appeared from the bushes I assumed I would have scared her away, I’m the soon to be Beta of my pack, Black Valley Wolf Pack, therefore I am larger and stronger than my pack aside from our Alpha Jax. Humans tend to stay away from since we are “wild animals” but the girl just hid behind the rock as if I wouldn’t be able to notice she was nearby. I smelt the air as I was taking my nightly run and I smelt something sweet, almost like caramel, I needed to find the source. I never thought I would’ve found this beautiful human.

My friends say that I am quite volatile and aggressive and I would agree with them , I just don’t get along with humans , but something about this girl calmed me and I needed to make sure she wasn’t scared of me . Slowly I strolled towards her behind the rock and saw her huddled up with her head hidden behind her hair and arms holding her knees tight, I could see her shaking – she was petrified.

I needed to smell her so I slowly put my snout near her shoulder and smelt her hair, so sweet like berries. She tensed when I took a deep breath in and I slowly withdrew from her, I licked her arm and sat directly in front of her looking down at her. She slowly lifted her head and wiped the hair put of of her face, I was welcomed by the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen, “she’s beautiful…” my wolf said to me in awe.

I could see she wanted to touch me but was hesitant, she lifted her hand and my wolf took control of our body pushing my head towards her hand to tell her its okay, I wouldn't hurt her. She stroked my face and the top of my head; slowly she lifted herself to take a better look at me, she stroked my back then came back and looked into my eyes , her face was perfect , her skin looked so soft ….i need to touch her. I licked her cheek , "so damn soft and taste so sweet," I tell my wolf, she giggles then says “You’re quite the cutie aren’t you?” damn this girl can make me melt even by saying something that easily belittles my manhood, “I wouldn’t of gone for cutie, but I suppose it’s better than nothing,” I tell my wolf. “Damn straight,” my wolf says ,”this human is so beautiful , so perfect …” my wolf almost purrs still in awe of this amazing creature in front of us.

My wolf takes over once again making a complete fool outta me by acting like those pathetic house dogs looking for attention, he rolls on the floor and makes stupid sounds with his tongue hanging out,

“Arg! Sebastian what are you doing? You making me look like a tool, get up and stop acting stupid!” I order my wolf.

“She is still scared of us, I like her and I don’t want her to be afraid and this is the only way that might change that!” Sebastian replies to me.

Then the girl unexpectedly laughs and rubs my chest area, “hmmm …maybe your plan worked after all.”

I walk the girl back toward the Trailer park and watch as she gets inside safely, but I stay hidden in the bushes.

I go back to the pack house just up the hill from the trailer Park. 

There’s a couple of cabins on the property, I stay on the one side of the main house with my best friends; Jax, Ronny, Rachel and Mark (whom are mates). Our soon to be Alpha found out who his mate was last year, it was his best friend Ronny, the problem was that Ronny is gay and extremely in love with her long-time girlfriend Chloe and also, Jax and Ronny are as close as brother and sister.

It is very rare for our wolves not to act on instinct once they find their mate but Ronny’s wolf ,”Star” and Jax’s wolf “Malek” have fortunately come to terms that they simply are not meant to be together . Of course the two still have that strong connection that mates have but nothing intimate since they aren’t going to mate or mark each other, and their wolves support their decision. Star has fallen in love with Chloe since she accepted Ronny when Ronny told her what she is and well Malek being apart of Jax and lets just say that Jax is having too much fun being a single playboy.

The elders of our pack wouldn’t agree with the way the two have dealt with the fact that they are mates, so they haven’t told anyone about it. The only reason I know is because I’m going to be Beta of the pack and Jax is like my brother, so he and Ronny informed me about the situation, I support them and love them both just the same or if not more for making such a tough decision.

After I change and shower I go see what everyone’s up to ,thinking to myself about the beautiful girl I just met and wondering what her name is. I pass Ronny on the couch chatting with Chloe and they ask why I’m smiling, I didn’t even realise I was so I tell them about the girl I met and we chat about her until they go to bed.

“I need to see her again.”

I’ve gone to the fountain everyday now just in case I catch her there, I’ve met up with her a couple times now and we just sit on the rock and she tells me stories about her parents and all these happy memories she has of them all together. When she tells me that her dad died, I can see how emotional it is for her to say the words out loud without crying. I cant believe how extremely brave this girl is, she also tells me about her parents relationship before he r father died and how much her mom misses her father. She smiles when she talks about how they were together.

I want to have that… with her.

As soon as Lexi bumped into me in the school hallway I knew I’d fallen for her, I saw the way she looked at me and I was a bit nervous that she would recognise my eyes. My wolf liked the fact that I made her blush by just being in her company and the way she looked at me gave me shivers down my spine.

When Jax stopped by and put his hand over her shoulder , I couldn’t help but get jealous even though he’s my Alpha and best friend I saw the look in his eyes when he looked at her and I knew that I had to make him understand that she was mine. I didn’t realise that the new girl that Ronny and Jax have been holding out on me was in fact my girl from the waterfall , I think they knew it was her and that’s why they didn’t want me to meet her so soon,” they probably thought you would chase her away” my wolf says.

“This is the girl from the waterfall,” I tell Jax through our connection as we walk into our first class. He smiles at me, “Yeah Ron and I kinda figured that out but we wanted to spend time with her before you came into the picture because I know now that you guys have met you’re definitely not going to let her out your sight!” he smirks .

“Damn straight , “ my wolf replies.
