The boy with the killer umbrella

Alone

I woke up near the gutter. I don't know how long the money I have will last. I try to stay positive but it's hard when you are close to dying. I guess I could sell my mothers umbrella for food money but I have a weird connection to it. She said before she died it will always protect me. I hope I can live till night because with all the executions going on you don't know if your next. There are more because Nobels are being murdered. I see shadows jump night after night. I wonder if I follow them would I be safe. I am running out of options and this seems like the best one.

That night

I hear rustling near the bush I am in and see one of the shadows that appears. It's the one with the big gun. It suddenly moves I chase it but for some reason I bring my umbrella. Its running pretty fast but I keep it in eyesight. It turns around and says in a girly voice "hey now that you see me you can fight us or join us." I then realize that I am surrounded by them. I have nothing to lose so I say "What is in it for me?" She states " Food,shelter and a life worth living."
I grab my umbrella and follow her with a nod she understands that I agree.

We walk through the woods silently when I hear a boy call out "Mine Your back."
