The rest of the normally boring school day passed slowly by me as I let my mind wander to the strange guy that mysteriously showed up on my camera that day. I walked out of my last class

of the day hoping my last few classes after lunch hadn't been over anything important as my

mind had been in a haze. I coudln't even remember walking to and from them.

I reached my locker as students were quickly filing out of the building like someone had set

off the fire alarm. Twisting the lock to my combination I yanked the door open and grabbed the

books I needed that night for homework that I hoped I could finish without remembering any of

the lectures that had taken place and of course my beloved camera. Usually it was with me at all

times even in class but the thought of sneaking a look at the intriguing photo was too tempting

and I wasn't about to get caught during class drifting off into dreamland about a guy I didn't

even know.

Lost again in my own thoughts I failed to hear the footsteps that had approached me from

behind until a overly excited "What's yours plans tonight?" Interupted them and I almost lost

the grip of my camera that would have sent it shattering to the hard tiled floor of the school.

Getting ahold of myself and my heartbeat that was suddenly too fast to control, I turned

around to see Whitney behind me with a huge grin on her face.

Laughing out loud to my reaction to her question she asked, "Geez, are we a little jumpy today?"

"Haha you wouldn't be laughing right now if I had dropped this on the floor." I said holding up

camera before tossing the strap around my neck. "I know you don't want to know the price tag

on this bad boy or have to pay for a new one when make me drop it from a sudden heart attack

that you caused." I teased.

"Whatever, but you didn't answer my question." She stated not aknowledging that she almost

made me drop something that would take her two years to pay off.

"Well I had planned on going home to upload my new pictures on the computer and spend some

of the night editing them."

"Hmm, don't you mean picture?" She said accusingly with one eyebrow raised.

I shrugged in response to her question and turned to shut my locker door. It closed with a loud

slam in the now empty hall with an erie echo.

"So do you want to hang out tonight, I could keep you company while you edit."

"You mean so that you can get a good look at that certain photo you mentioned earlier, right?" I

mocked in the same accusatory tone she used with me before.

"Okay you caught me. Is that a yes then?"

"Sure besides my mom won't be home for awhile and I hate sitting at my house alone."

We made our way out of the building as the last few students got in their cars and drove

away or waited for rides. Crossing the street in the direction of my house we walked in silence for

awhile. Without even looking up from the ground I'd been staring at for the last ten minutes
