As soon as the sun hit the ground, the moon hit sky. The light was fading, creating new mysterious shadows, dark patched around me. Eyes slowly glimmered from tree hallow to another. Like possessed demons, the breeze wailed rapidly between distorted trunks, carrying the sickly stink of rotten, revolting wood.

Charlie was dead asleep. Suspicious sounds echoed louder and louder. Surprisingly, Charlie didn't wake up. Even though, I knew this was not the right things to do but I had a curious urge to find out what was there and what caused the eerie sounds. I was always that odd kid in school who would do something stupid in the eyes of others, but to me it was like a brave adventure that would make my life more interesting.

Scattering with fear I stumbled uncomfortably above tiny specks of moonlight, shone through only to be consumed by the monstrous darkness.

20 minutes later

I was now utterly lost and confused since I found my self in the middle of nowhere all alone in the dark. Wasn't the smart thing to do, was it ?

I shouldn't of have let my curiosity get the best out of me again. Arghhhh! This always happens, no wonder kids at school use to tease and bully me. Only, Charlie was there to guide and protect me.

Charlie was only few months older than me but still treated me like his baby brother which I surprisingly liked and missed. The love and friendship we had could never be replace.

Pondering over these made me more terrified than usual. Thoughts and questions began to emerge in my head. Am I lost? Do I know the way back? Will never see Charlie again? What should I do?

It all began to feel like a frightful nightmare that I couldn't control. I continued to stroll as stopping in the middle wouldn't help.

---

Minutes passed

Was this nightmare going to end? Terrified - hands of lively trees tried to engulf me.

Suddenly, streaks of light that filtered through the gaps in the brunches tendered my eyes. Anxiously, my shivering legs scorched out of the spine thrilling nightmare.

---

There it obtained in-front of my naked eye, Big and clear. Was this what Charlie was warning me about? Frozen I stood. A cold shudder trickled own my spine. Glancing around apprehensively, glimpse of it's windowpanes smeary with age and dirt; it's brickwork crumbling away. Adorned as it was with all manner of gargoyles and carving, these Gothic touches held a sinister threat of evil doing within.

At this moment I regret everything- Leaving Charlie alone and walking around the island packed with humongous uninviting trees, ALONE like a fool. Indeed, a fool was I that never thought before doing something so ridiculous.

Near It stood: the body of a scorpion with a sting in its tail, it's head covered with snakes hair, thick odious blood raging down down its half-hidden face. The atmosphere of death crept up from my stomach, a cold wave embalmed me, the hair rose back to my stiff neck and my mouth ran dry. Paralysed to the spot, I was.
