Gen's POV
"Are you sure you want to do this? All on your own?"
"Yeah mom I do. I have to. I'll visit, I promise."That was the last thing I said to my mom; a big, fat, lie. I had no intentions of going back there. Ever. For anything. At least not the house specifically. I don't know how she mages to stay.
Anyways I flew out that night. Back home, I guess. Back to London to stay with some friends until I can get on my feet.
The only regrets I had were when we were called to board. I thought I could stay, we could move. I could live on my own here. But anywhere in state was too close. And out of state seemed to far away. So 4,000 miles was the compromise.
Everything was arranged. I was staying with 2 friends from the states and one from the UK, I was going to homeschool until I have enough credits to attend a fine arts school, and I had YouTube as a cushion.
Come on Gen I told myself Everything's ok••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
This was the best decision of my life. I was free. Free of the stress, free of the pain, free of judgement...free of Emma. I was a new person and it was smooth sailing once I got a job at a cafe.
I took American courses to get the last few credits I needed to get into the London Academy of Fine Arts. I got along great with my roommates, managed to set up a schedule for YouTube and begin uploading consistently, and it just felt better. I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders.
