Chapter 2- Part 1

It's been a few days since I met Xavier and made the date. In two days we have our, first and hopefully not last, date. I have to admit I'm a slight bit nervous but I'm also excited. I've gone into the book store the days since but unfortunately he hasn't been there and Angel said he hadn't stopped in at all. Angel is also ecstatic that I'm going out with her brother this Friday. She has already called dibs to find out first when we get engaged. She's a little over imaginative. I don't think either of us would even want to get married within two or more years. It's just crazy her talking about it before we even have our first date. Xavier has been on my mind constantly since the day we met and he has been able to occupy it totally because I still don't have a case to pull my mind off of him. I still check into the office everyday and today is no exception.

I'm getting ready to leave and go to the office and see if they have any cases for me. It's highly doubtful but they might. I kind of hope, for the first time, that I don't get assigned a case so that way nothing can interfere with the date. Don't get me wrong, I'd be glad if I got one but it could just make things difficult with my budding relationship. I decide to grab a bottle of tea before I leave and it's a good thing because just as I leave the kitchen I get a phone call on my cell. I wonder if it's Xavier. He hasn't contacted me yet about our date, so all i know is it is Friday. I don't know the time or place or what to wear or anything else. Sadly my caller ID flashes my office . I bet this is a case but I still wish it was Xavier. I sigh and answer the phone.

"Nichole Galt here," I ask briskly and professionally.

" Have you left your house yet Nichole?" I hear my rude, egotistical boss asking me.

"No sir, I'm getting ready to head out my door right now."

"Well don't you dare come to the office. I'm going to text you the address of a jewelry store that was robbed last night. It's your case, don't ruin it." I think, I think, I just got a case. I'm so happy right now. I can't wait to do this. I just hope it doesn't hurt my date.

"I won't ruin it sir. You can trust me."

"You better not rookie."

I hang up with my boss and program the jewelry store's address into my GPS one the text arrives, he added that there is no briefing to be done and that I'm going to be the only detective working the case. I head to the jewelry store. I know I can do this case. I'm a great detective, I just need to show my worth to everyone. Once I get there I need to take pictures, dust for fingerprints, collect clues, get witness' testimonies and keep my eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary. Anything and everything could be a clue. I just have to figure out how it all plays into the crime. That is the difficult part.

I've collected all the evidence, taken many pictures and gathered the testimonies. All I need to do now is add, subtract, multiply and divide all these clues to get the right synopsis. I think I found a clue that might just be the figuring factor to solve this case. The clue is a ring. Doesn't seem like much since I'm in a jewelry store but it appears to have some kind of crest on it and it has three initials on it: X, L or I, and A. I can't really make out the middle letter but parts of it looks like an L and other parts look like an M. It looks fairly old as if it has been around for awhile and not recently bought. I found this ring but the jewelry store lost a necklace, bracelet, anklet, earrings, ring combo, which surprisingly, are the only missing things.

 Hey!!!! So I have a few silent readers and I'm posting again because i'm seeing the view count go up. I'd really like you guys to comment or like. :)
Also I wrote this about a year and a half ago and I'm almost to the point where I need to write before I post so updates may get strange since I have a full college course load plus marching band (Go Color Guard!!) So like and comment to give me an excuse to bump this up on the priority list. :)
