Don't worry little man, the shadows comfort you at your command.

"C'mon, get up! What are ya, a kid?" Ryan heard his uncle bang on his door, rather loudly.

Ryan hissed, slowly cracking his eyes open to... darkness? He blinked. What in the world was going on? He's... blind?

Bolting up from his bed, he looked towards where the window should be in his room and sighed with relief. He could see the faint light inside a house outside in the distance. He smiled and brought a hand to cover his face. What had possessed him to think he'd gone blind? He must've been foolish to think he'd suddenly go blind one day when he was perfectly fine the other day. Or was it?

"Food is cooking, hurry up!" was the final bang on his door and the sound of his uncles muttering was heard as he left.

Ryan frowned, dropping his hand onto his lap. He glanced at the house next door and quickly looked down at his hands. Or rather where his hands should be. It was way too dark. What time was it? Why wasn't there a moon out?  He furrowed his brows, shivering at how exposed his room was to the paralleled one.

Slowly, stretching in the process, he got up on his two feet and yawned. Freezing instantly when he remembered the weird incident that had happend at the house next door. There was a pause for a moment, before Ryan decided to take a daring look at the window across from his.

He let out the puff of air he didn't know he held, and ran a hand through his hair. It was too dark out to make out anything. Not even a sign of life emitted from the place. He hoped that it meant that if he couldn't see in there that who ever lived in that house, IF, anyone lived in that house couldn't see him.

He let out a small yelp when his foot met with something solid as he shuffled, and fell back onto his bed. He had his heart racing and palms sticky as he calmed himself down. What was he so worked up about? It's not like there was anything really to be scared of. Except the dark. The people inside that house next door. Yep. Nothing to be scared of. It's totally nothing.

Ryan sighed, remembering he left his bag by the bed, obviously making him more of a fool when he got scared for nothing. He never thought that being so far away from home would make him like this. It was after all only one day. Though he didn't expect any of it to turn out this way.

"Come on... get a grip on yourself. It's just like Uncle Tobias said, are you a kid?" he murmured to himself, reaching over his bed to grab his heavy bag.

He even surprised himself with how much stuff he had. Which was practially nothing. All he had was a few sets of close in his school bag that he had and his essentials. He had to stuff everything in his bag so he didn't have to carry much things.

He knew his bag like it was the back of his hand, so he supposed that's what made it easier to find his things. He rummaged through the side zippers on it and found the one thing he needed at the moment. His source of light. Turns out that it was his cellphone.

"Bingo," Ryan said, grinned, hitting the phones 'on' button he'd like to call it, and waited.

He instantly paled when the phone had just about seventeen missed calls displayed. All from his mother.

Shaking his head, he'd call her later. Right now he was more fixated on finding things to wear. His uncle probably wasn't one to wait long. So he did the only thing that seemed quick, dumping all his clothes onto the bed, using his phone for light, and picked out a black, slim hoodie with a shirt and a pair of grey skinnys plus black socks. Taking his essentials he used his light as guidance to the door and  sighed. He didn't even know where the bathroom was to take his shower...
