My story is the same, repeating history in different places. Oh well, I just have to keep moving on. I woke up in the orphanage, same place I've always been. "Yo! Wake up you ugly bitch!", Sharlie says, to me. I sigh and drag myself out of bed, she comes to me and starts shoving me around, making me fall to the ground. I hit the bottom and groan a little, she laughs. And her friends gather around me and they grab me by my shirt and shove me into the wall, I hear Sharlie say, "Yo betta start wakin' up earlier! Ya'll don't and you get the punishment deserved." I say what I say everyday, "Yes, Sharlie. I'll wake up earlier, I'm sorry for not listening to you. I"ll do better next time." One of her friends shout out to me "You BETTER or else!" Sharlie lets go of my shirt and walks away. I look at my only friend in this orphanage, Mellie. She shrugs and says, "Never different." I sigh and collapse on my bed. The bell rings for breakfast, I groan even louder, I'm LATE for breakfast. Mellie walks over to me and gives me a pat on my back, you'll make it on the five minute mark, just hurry before "you know who" comes." I push myself up and start getting to work.
I bust in the cafeteria as soon as the bell rings for the five minute mark, "KRYSTALLINE I'M GLAD YOU ARE ARE PARTICIPATING WITH US TODAY!", our teacher yells into the microphone to make my entrance obvious over a bunch of yelling kids for their breakfast. They all glance at me and look away as if I'm poisonous. And I look down on the floor,. "Oh look.. She's so sad now, come cry baby. You wanna have a shoulder to lie on? COME to momma!", Sharlie says. To make me feel bad. Mellie rushes towards me and starts to push me next to where she was sitting, she saved me a seat. She never is going to know how nice she is, to me. I smile at her, she smiles back and mouths, 'may god help you'. I grin and my grin slowly fade as our teacher calls up our names.
"Sharlie!", she calls out. "Here"
"Kendall!" "here"
"Sasha!" "here"
As she goes down the list of names she moves on.
"Mellie!" "HERE"
My name should come up, I sit up straight with my posture nice and neat. I look at Mellie and she nods at me. My name should come up.
"Sarah!" "Here"
I falter, my name... It should've came. She probably said my name before she called out anyone else's.. I sigh, life is never better. I look around me and they glance at me and snicker.
I hear a snap as the list of names are slammed on the desk and the teacher grins and yells "AS USUAL KRYSTALLINE IS ALWAYS LATE!"
I try to stay calm and raise my hand, "Yes, Krystalline." "I assure you I was here before you started calling out names and--", before I could finish. She stood up to her full height and pointed her nose at me and put her hand up in the air, to silence me. The whole room went quiet, "You are late, and you will serve us properly. By cleaning the laundry room. With YOUR toothbrush, I will be watching VERY closely. So DON'T you DARE try to use the floor scrubber." Ske walks away and calls out of her shoulder, "Meet me after breakfast, I can use you for good purpose to clean the bathroom stalls." A bunch of snickers. "AWWWWW, poor little cry baby has to crawl to clean the bathroom!", Sharlie calls out to me, the whole cafeteria bursts out laughing. I stare at the table and I feel my tears swelling up in my face. OH NO! I can't cry in front of Sharlie! She's gonna make me cry more! I stand up suddenly, and run out the door as my tears stream down my face. I collapse crying in the bathroom stalls and stand up and look at myself in the mirror. "Oh don't you worry child!", the figure in the mirror said to me, she was not me. She was someone else, how is it possible?? I glanced at her closely, she was old probably around her forties. And she had wrinkles under her eyes as she smiled at me. I reached to touch the mirror and the surface wiggled like water. She stared at me with her eyebrows up like she wanted me to decide what do next. I glanced at her one more time. I prayed to whatever god who saw my stupid idea and jumped into the mirror. Before I entered the mirror I thought HOLY SHIT. I bit my lip and opened my eyes and looked around. There was the woman and I looked behind me and saw the mirror and the sink. Back at the orphanage bathroom. I looked at the woman again and looked at her in shock. She wasn't old anymore. She was beautiful, and she looked like a goddess.
