Using them like toys, using them for their own entertainment and like all toys, they eventually break. Humans are slaves to these monsters, waiting in unclean auction houses to be starved, beaten, abused, and sold to their next masters. And if they aren't sold, they eventually die. They die of 'natural' causes, killed by other prisoners, or killed by the guards. There's no escaping it, no matter how well you hide they find you.
