Ring stumbled out of the nursery and blinked her keen cyan eyes. Camp was booming with rogues and former kittypets, all gathering in the clearing for a meeting.
"BloodClan." the kit murmured to herself and bounded forward, into the band of pressing cats.
"Watch it, kit!"
"Don't trod on my tail!"
"Scrawny little thing. Hey, watch where you're putting your paws!"
Ring simply ignored the snaps and hisses from her Clanmates. Today was important to her. She was going to be apprenticed, just as her older brother, Scratch had.
"Oi. We haven't all day, Ring." she could hear the deep growl of a cat closer to the front and she shuddered heavily.
She broke out into the front and sat down, her pelt itching in anticipation. Ring stared up at the BloodClan leader, a small, yet muscular jet black tom with a single white paw and a collar studded with dog teeth.
Scourge... she wanted to usher to tom's name, but her throat was choked up at the thought of speaking his name at a time like this. It's unnecessary.
"Ring, now is your time to be apprenticed. When the time for you to be a cold-hearted killer comes, you will receive your warrior name. For now, I name you Ringpaw." Scourge announced. "Your mentor will be Brick."
Ringpaw's fur fluffed out in excitement as she touched noses with her new mentor, Brick.
The russet tom snarled in her ear before turning away, "Once I've trained you, you'll show mercy to no cat in any battle."
Her time was now to show her true potential. She had been treated like a runt for far too long, and she was ready to show that she was sick of it.
I'll show them all what I can do, that I no longer will be treated as an outsider, but as an equal...
This is super short, but then again, I'm not that creative. This topic is based off of the books of 'Warriors'. I do not own the series, and all credit goes to Erin Hunter for the books.
