"You look beautiful." Niall said, appearing in the doorway of our bedroom as I was sitting on the bed putting on my shoes. I looked up at him and smiled,

"Thanks. You look very handsome yourself" I said as I tightened the strap on my shoe. I stood up and walked over to him,

"You're lucky I'm going with you or you'd have to change. I need to mark my territory and let everyone know you're off limits."

"Oh c'mon on babe, everyone already knows I'm off limits." I wrapped my arms around his waist and kissed his chin. He smiled and kissed my forehead,

"Well just taking precautions. Plus, seeing an old pal from collage might do me well. I barely see anyone anymore." He said playing with my hair,

"I don't see why you don't get a job. I mean you graduated collage and you know they're looking for business men all over this city."

"How about where you work?"

"We just filled up the last spot today, but there's another building, a couple down from ours that's hiring. You'd be perfect. You just read a story and decided if it's good enough to be passed on the final person or not. I don't know who runs that building though. You should check it out." He looked down at me and smiled,

"I'll think about it." He said, "now, let's get going before Sophia finishes up everything and you worry all night about how you didn't get to help." He wrapped his arm around my waist and we headed out. I got into the passenger side of the car and he got in the driver's.

The drive to the Payne's was short but seemed to drag on forever. I adjusted the radio a couple times, every time a commercial came on, and me and Niall talked about small things. We didn't talk a lot when we were in the car. I'm not sure why it's just always been a thing, ever since our first date.

He pulled into the driveway of their house and parked. I got out and followed Niall up the steps to the front door. He knocked and I interlocked my fingers with his as we waited.

"I love you." I said softly

"I love you too" he whispered back right before Liam opened the door. He smiled at us,

"Niall! Thea! Glad to see you could make it!" He pulled Niall into a hug to wear he hugged back and then hugged me. Niall maybe territorial but when it comes to Liam, he's chill. Maybe it has something to do with I grew up with Liam or something. I don't know. We walked inside and Liam took our coats and hung them up.

"Sophia's in the kitchen. I'm in the living room if you'd like to join me Niall?"

"Yeah" he followed him and I walked towards the kitchen. The smell of garlic bread and spaghetti filled my nostrils and I instantly smiled. I haven't had this in forever.

I knocked lightly on the wall and Sophia turned around and smiled when she saw me,

"Thea! I'm so glad you're here it's been ages!" She said hurrying over to me and hugged me. I hugged back tightly. It's nice to hug someone who's not Niall or Liam for a change. After we released from the hug i walked over to the counter and she handed me a tomato,

"Cut this for me?" I took it and nodded.

"Yes ma'am." I grabbed a knife and began cutting the tomato. We made small talk until all the food was ready and was either in the oven or wasn't needed to be heated up until later, Sophia poured us both some tea and sat down at the table next to me,

"Most people won't be getting here until 4:00pm so we got some time before we have to set the table." She said handing me my cup. I took it and sipped it nodding.
