It was the worse day of the week. Friday. I really wish it was Monday, I thought, as I rolled out of bed groaning.

After my shower, I put on some black leggings with my gray jumper.

With it being my favorite time of the year, winter, I sometimes actually tried for school, which was extremely rare.

Going down stairs, I heard nothing. Not a surprise that my "dad" didn't come home last night.

I made myself a bowl of cereal, and sat down. Once I was finished I put my bowl in the sink, slipped on my black converse, and headed to the bus stop.

At school, I scurried to my locker hoping that not one would notice me. I really didn't feel like putting up with the bullies today.

The warning bell sounded as I headed toward my first period. Half way through class, there was a knock at the door.

We all snapped our heads up, curious to see who it was. In walked this boy who I had never seen before.

I've never really been into the whole dating seen, but seeing this boy made my heart skip a beat. His hazel eyes suddenly met my blue ones, and I dropped my head instantly.

The class had all their eyes on this new boy. I learned that his name was Austin. Suddenly I heard a scraping noise next to me, and realized that Austin had decided to take the empty seat next to me.

I fought the urge not to look over, even if it was incredibly hard. Struggling, I snuck a little glance at his only to find that he kept sneaking glaces at me.

The bell had rung signaling that class was over. I gathered up my stuff, and headed for the door. Finally, I thought as it was time for lunch. Later on, it was time to go home.

Most people would be excited, but I rather stay at school, then go to a empty house. The story of my life. Getting home, I found that someone was in the kitchen.

Grabbing the nearest object, I slowly crept into the kitchen. I found my dad. "What are you doing home?" I asked.

"Well hello to you to," he replied. I rolled my eyes and started to walk out. "Brooke wait," stuttered my dad.

"What?"I questioned.

"Hows school?" he asked

"Why do you care, your never home anyways," I stated.

"Well, your right, but that's what I wanted to talk about," he said

"What do you mean?" I said.

"I'm so sorry sweetie. I never wanted children, and when I found out your mother was pregnant I didn't know what to do. I was never cut out to be a father and I'm sorry that I've  never been there, but this is what is good for the both of us. I'm leaving. I'll send you enough for rent each month, but your going to have to get a job." he replied.

"What!" I screamed, my eyes brimming with tears. "When are you leaving?" I whispered.

"Now, I was just waiting for you to get home." he said. With that, he grabbed his bags, and walked out the door. No good bye, no nothing, he just left. I ran to my room, and cried my eyes out.

Even though I never liked him, he was still my dad, and it hurt to be abandoned.
