Christina could feel her knees shaking as she forced herself to walk closer and closer to the Joe Louis Arena. Three months ago she'd be watching Raw on the couch in her living room, Jimmy's arm hugging her closer to him as the two eat Nutella straight out of the jar.
"You can do it, babe," Jimmy assured, squeezing her hand. "Love you," he kissed her cheek before releasing her hand, walking off. "Remember, I'm gonna be at first row!"
"Thanks Jims," she grinned at him, hugging the jacket closer to herself, the cold December air and the anxiety making her shake even worse now that her best friend was out of sight.
"Suck it up, bitch." Christina whispered to herself, "nobody likes a pussy," she could practically hear Jimmy's reply and smirk but chose to ignore it as she stepped forward.
At the back entrance stood a tall man with broad shoulders, scrolling through his phone. Christina realized it was one of those Smartphones that are touch phones. She still preferred hers.
"Hello," she greeted the man. He raised his eyes to her, pressing a key on his phone and making a soft voice that reminded Christina of a lock to ring through the cold air.
"Yes?" he asked, looking her up and down.
"Well, um, I'm Christina West. So, uh..." Christina trailed off awkwardly. Luckily, the man was informed about her existence.
"Oh, yes. Stephanie told me about it."
"Really?" Christina looked at him in confusion. "Well, uh..." she laughed nervously, "what am I supposed to do?"
"Go in, you'll figure out pretty soon what's going on." he grinned, "Good luck Christina."
"Thanks..." she hesitated, not knowing his name.
"Jack."
"Jack," she smiled. "Thank you," she said bashfully as he opened the door for her.
And so, she took the first step into the new world.
▬▬
"Hey Stephanie," Christina greeted the woman, making her smile at her.
"Christina!" she greeted, "wonderful seeing you, come on in, sit down. Paul will be here soon, I'll go look for him."
"Alright," Christina grinned, sitting down on a spinning chair. The last time she sat on one, it was at high school, when she was called into the principal's office. Her body did not listen to her and she started spinning on the chair, and by the time Paul and Stephanie came back into the room Christina was in the middle of a full speed spinning, and Paul couldn't help but chuckle, alerting her.
"Oh, sorry," she apologized, stopping. The world was spinning around and she blinked rapidly, trying to make the world look right again.
"Quite alright," Paul dismissed. Christina felt her mouth go dry. She was sitting in front of Triple H, making a complete fool out of herself.
Her cheeks were flaming.
"So, Christina." Triple H grinned, "I heard quite a few compliments about you from my wife. And saw the videos."
"Oh, um, well."
"You don't need to act so awkward," he dismissed, "you are the new addition to WWE, we'd be glad if you join us."
The shocked expression on her face slowly shifted into a huge smile, so big that her dimples almost drowned.
"For real?"
Triple H didn't reply, simply sliding a contract and a pen towards her.
"Wait, 50,000?" Christina asked, shocked.
"Well, I know it's not much--"
"Holy macaroni, it's more than I've earned this past three years." Christina read through the contract slowly, mostly because she wasn't used to reading, and just reading the main points.
Triple H and Stephanie exchanged a glance, and just then Christina signed the contract, her signature shaky due to her excitement and as she finished to scribble it down, the pen practically dropped off her hand.
"Well, welcome to WWE. Let me show you the way to the writers' room, they'll tell you anything you need to know."
▬▬▬
WHEN ARE YOU COMING UP BABY.
Christina blinked at the text message. At first, when she read it she thought it was Jimmy, but it was an all too familiar number.
It was Logan.
Christina chose to ignore it, taking off one of the unisex shirt that her and Jimmy found on some random bazaar. She quickly put on the crop top with the number 24 and the surname she was given; Anderson.
Christina made sure that her short jeans covered everything in the mirror, before putting on the shoes. She hated wrestling shoes. She'd rather just go out with her cow slippers.
"WEST!" A loud voice barked, following a single knock of the door. "Come on, your debut's coming up!"
"I'm ready!" she called back, jumping to her feet and jumping on the spot for a moment before opening the door to the divas' locker room. She was surprised no one was there. "I'm ready, bro, chill," she grinned at the bleached hair producer. He seemed to be in his early 30's and quite an anxious and nervous person. Only he let it out via anger.
"Come on," he told her. "Remember, you're team Natalya and Fox, alright?"
"Alright."
"You want the championship out of the Bella's hands, that's the story that will lead you to--"
"I know, I know."
"Don't tell me that you know," he huffed. "Well, good luck."
"Thanks Jason." she grinned, skipping away to the entrance. She waited a few minutes, the crowd's cheers making her feel more and more nervous before all of a sudden A Day To Remember's All I Want boomed through the air, and she took three steps back before running like a lunatic all the way to the ring.
Her heart pounded in her ears as she tackled Nikki Bella off the stairs, jumping to the ring and offering Natalya the tag. Natalya jumped towards her, allowing her to enter, and she immediately slid into the ring, catching Brie in a headlock and dropping them both to the floor, rushing to grab her legs and pin her down.
The referee counted to three and before she could even realize what's going on, an announcement was made, All I Want pumping in the background of it, "HERE ARE YOUR WINNERS, JAYDEN ANDERSON, NATALYA AND ALICIA FOX!"
Natalya grabbed her hand, pulling her up and raising her hand.
After a moment, Natalya hugged her. "Welcome to WWE."
With a huge smile, catching Jimmy's eyes, Christina said back "Thank you."
