During the ride to the hospital I fell in and out of consciousness. Every time I awoke I would panic and faint again. The driver told the other paramedic that we are about 5 minutes out, I'm not exactly sure when I heard that though. Everything seems like it's going in slow motion and that I'm in this never ending cycle of pain. I can't speak, I can't move, I'm paralyzed in fear and pain. I can't stop thinking about what will happen when this is over. Will I be alone? Where will I go? We are hours away from my house and for all I know the rest of my family could be dead!
We arrived at the hospital pretty quickly and I immediately was rushed inside. The lights were blinding me as I stared up at them and all I could think of was what if this was the last thing I saw? Doctors began surrounding me on all corners of my fast moving stretcher. They were shouting orders and holding up my IV bags. People instantly were running around frantically in order to get everything they needed for me. Eventually I was put in a room with tons of machines and the doctors and nurses quickly hooked me up like it was an Olympic race and they needed to win the gold. They checked my vitals, then re- checked them again and again and again. They began to poke and prod me with needles and hook me up to all these different medicine drips, some for pain and some to knock me out. I'm pretty sure I looked like I was about to die, I felt that way at least. Almost as quickly as they came, all the doctors and nurses left and I was left alone to my frantic mind and numb body. The only sound was the machines beeping telling me I was still alive and encouraging me to keep on breathing. Inhale. Exhale. That's all I have to keep doing, but it hurt. It was simple, yet the hardest thing in the world.
After about five minutes an older looking doctor came in to check my vitals. Something about his facial features and how calm he looked immediately relaxed me. The old doctor slowly walked over to my face and whispered," They're okay sweetheart, they aren't here, but they are okay. I'll keep you updated." I sighed slowly in relief and now feeling secure I slowly closed my eyes and fell into a much needed deep sleep.

"She's crashing! We need more IV!"
Beeeeppp.
"Stay back and give me the paddles, charge them to 100!"
"Charging!"
"Clear!!"
I felt my body jolt up and a shock travel through my body.
"Still nothing! Charging again!"
"Clear!"
Another shock traveled through my body, but I wouldn't wake up. It's like I was trapped in a small box that kept getting tighter and tighter, preventing me from breathing or functioning like a person.
'C'mon come back to me!" the older doctor groaned in frustration
"Let's try one more time."
"Charging"
"Clear!"
My body jolted again as a high energy shock traveled through my body. I felt my heart start pumping crazily again and I knew it had worked. Their was a moment of silent anticipation in the room, it was like all the doctors were waiting for a album to finally come out. Then after a few seconds the machine caught my heart beat and it played aloud in the room. The doctors and nurses sighed in relief and a few left the room to go tend to other patients. The old doctor collapsed into a chair and there was a moment of peace before a nurse suddenly came rushing into the room running full speed.
"Doctor!" he panted, "It's about her parents. They're here now, they just got med-flighted in and the mother is on her away to surgery. But doctor, it's bad. This girl might wake up an orphan!"
"Oh shit!" the old doctor yelled and together they ran out of the room.
