After about a week, Caden began regretting her words. She wanted to forget the events of her first day because it only added to her misery. Being happy, then miserable in seconds was overwhelming. The thing that surprised her most is when two emotions split into three. The third being a small pain, almost longing.
New guy:
She was heading to her second period class when she walked smack into someone. "I'm so sorry!" She yelled, pulling her hands to her chest. "It's okay." He whispered handing Caden her binder after picking it up. The look on her face was surprise, not many people are so kind, especially to her.
"What's your name?" The guy asked, pulling his beanie off and shaking his hair out. "Cade." She responded quickly, realising that she was being 'weird'. She looked into the boys eyes and saw a reddish glow that warmed her heart and her cheeks. "What's yours?" She asked, trying to draw more attention to her question instead of her face. "Victor Nightingale, but my friends call me Vic." He grinned, showing some oddly sharp teeth. "O-oh.. May I call you Vic, Victor?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
Vic nodded, his eyes shut and his jaw quite firm. His cheek bones were sharp and his features made him.. Beautiful. When Vic opened his eyes, he looked Into Caden's yellow/grey eyes and laughed. "What a strange colour." She moved shakily towards him. "Is that a bad thing?" "No." He responded, reaching a hand out to gently *boop* her nose.
She cringed and smirked. "You are an interesting specimen yourself." This time he raised an eyebrow. Vic moved his head up and down, scanning Cade. He noticed the small scars directly beside her eye socket and the rosy colours of her cheeks, but the purple bags under the eyes kinda made him worry.
Caden held her binder firmly to her chest and looked down, moving her hair over her face. The look on Vic's face was one that she'd seen many times before. She figured that he was judging her. "I should get to class." She whispered, looking down at her shoes.
The black haired boy nodded and laughed. "Have a good day Cade." He said, leaning close to her ear. When Vic went to turn around he noticed Coach Warren directly behind himself, when it was a little to late. Vic's face had a look of surprise and nervousness.
"Mr. Nightingale! You're new? Welcome to our school." Coach Warren appeared to be in a hurry thought he hadn't moved much. He looked forward, behind Vic, and sighed. "Are you okay?"
Caden looked up and did her best to smile. It was weak and made her look grumpy. Her pale cheeks still had a hint of red in them making her look.. Cute. Coach Warren laid a hand on Vic's shoulder, leaving the boy kinda confused.
Vic's confusion lead him to back away letting Coach Warrens hand drop. When Vic was no longer blocking Caden, he moved a few steps forward. Cade could now smell her teachers light musk and it kinda frightened her. She'd never been less than ten feet away from him and now there was only a shaky six inches between the two. Coach warren placed a gentle hand on the her shoulder and smiled. "You should get to class. I'll write both of you a pass." He said, turning his head to look toward Vic.
