Lafontaine rushed after Perry as she left the room. They didn't know who Perry was anymore, but they knew she meant everything to them.

Perry stopped and looked back at Laf. "Why are you following me into the heart of the campus? Where the Zetas and Summers are fighting? Where chaos and hell erupts?" She asked, angrily.

"This isn't like you, Perr. You would be telling everyone to be normal, you would be cleaning the house to distract yourself from the destruction. What's happened to you? Where is the innocent girl I grew up with gone?" Laf replies, tears forming in their eyes.

"Innocence dies, Lafontaine. Everything dies." Perry snapped back, turning away abruptly to continue walking towards the crater.

"Perry!" Lafontaine cried. "Just stop! For one second, please. Let me talk to you. Let me be with you." Lafontaine tried to force back their tears, but it was too late. Tears streamed down their face, but Laf did not care anymore. They just wanted Perry back. The real Perry.

Perry stopped and turned once again to look at the red head following her. This time, her face dropped. She was no longer tense. The anger from her face disappeared, and guilt quickly painted itself in its place. Perry walked over to Laf, so they were only centimeters apart.

"I just want my Perry back." They whispered, tears still running down their cheeks.

"Oh, Laf. What's happening? Why are you crying?" Perry wiped the tears from Lafontaine's face.

"What's happened to you, Perr? Why are you so angry all the time?" Lafontaine asked, forcing back more tears.

Perry looked down at her shoes, and the back up to her life long friend who was crying in front of her. No words could explain what was going on inside Perry's head. It was like she was two different people... "Lafontaine, sometimes I don't think I am me. And it's scary. I want to be me again, so I can be with you."

Lafontaine looked at Perry. They could see the fear in her eyes. "Can you control it? Do you know when you are you?" Laf made a mental note to look into the science of this later.

"I am me now. I don't know for how long. But in this moment I am me. And I need to spend this moment with you." Perry leaned in and locked lips with Lafontaine.

Laf pulled away after a while and laughed. "Are you sure you're you?" They joked. "That seemed pretty out of character for you."

Perry smiled at Laf, and pulled her in for a hug. "I'm sorry for whatever I do when I'm not me. Just know that whatever happens, the real me loves you. Always."

The two red heads continued hugging as the campus fell around them. No one mattered anymore. For now, it was just them.
