The bell rang and kids who were visiting with their friends rushed to their seats.
No one sat in the seat to the right of me, leaving it empty. Julian walked through the doorway right before our teacher, Mr. Heine came in. Mr. Heine told Julian to sit in an empty seat. His eyes went across the room until they spotted the only empty seat in the room; the one next to me.

My heart beat faster as he made his way to the seat.

He smiled at the cheerleader he was kissing earlier and sat down in the empty desk next to me. When I saw him smile at that girl my heart ached and felt as though it had cracked. I looked down as Mr. Heine set down a paper in front of me. It was an English paper.

I had an F.

Fuck. I looked up at him and he shook his head. "You've done so much better before," was all he said before walking around the room to hand the rest of the papers out. I could feel some people in the class looking at me, thinking to themselves about how I used to do so well in this class.

I did so much better before I had fallen for Julian.

I had fallen for him before the kiss... Way before that. Before Angel and I were even friends. She had just started talking to me three years ago a year before we had graduated from Elementary School. I'd liked Julian since...

6th grade.

It's been so long... So very long, and still no one knows. Just as I turned to look up at the board, a crumpled up paper landed on my desk. Oh joy, a note from some mother fucker in the class...

I grabbed it quickly and opened it.

I see your doing bad in English. Do you need a tutor?
-Julian

I wrote back quickly, not wanting to be caught with a note and have to read it out loud.

I don't need a tutor. And I'm doing just fine in English!
-Iris

I tossed the paper on his desk right before Mr. Heine saw. He was writing something on the board, which I knew no one would be paying attention to. They never did and probably never will. It's as simple as that. The note appeared again as did another.

My eyebrow raised as I grabbed the first one that landed on my desk.

Hey, I heard what Mr. Heine said about your paper. Need me to help tutor you? I'm already helping Angel, it won't be that big of a deal. Besides, you guys need to become friends again! I shouldn't have dared you to kiss Julian, it was a big mistake. And I know you didn't like the kiss so I don't know why I asked then. You had let me have too many monster energies! That's what I'm blaming it on. Anyway, please at least consider becoming friends with Angel again. I can tell she misses you, but she doesn't want to budge. Please?
-Amanda♥

I wrote back to her, telling her that I would gladly become friends with Angel again and that I missed her too, but right now isn't the best time to be trying to get us to be friends again. Only because it was the middle of English and I was afraid of getting caught passing notes.

The other one said:

That F you just got says you are. Now, do you want a tutor or not? I'd gladly help. I'm getting a pretty good grade in here compared to your grade.
-Julian

I sighed.

He was going to get his way. He was going to get to tutor me somehow, rather it be talking to my parents or asking Mr. Heine if he could. He always gets his way. Always.

I quickly wrote back to him:

You can tutor me. Only if Angel allows it, though. And I swear if you even try to kiss me, you're getting kicked where it hurts.
-Iris

I threw the paper onto his desk.

Right when I did, I knew it was a mistake.
