Liam and I have been in my hotel room watching a film. "That was a great movie." I say as I walk to the fridge to get us each a water. Liam follows right behind me. "Yes it was." He replies. Funny though, he sounds nervous.

When I straighten up after grabbing the waters from the fridge, Liam is right there. Our faces so close. I know where my thoughts are right now, but where are his?

Liam answers my thoughts by putting his hand in my hair and leaning down to kiss me. I stare into his beautiful eyes as his mouth gets closer to mine. I am tingling with anticipation. I've dreamt of this moment a million times.

Liam abruptly stops short of my lips. "I have to go." He says and turns to leave.

"Liam, wait! What's wrong?" I follow him to the door and grab his arm. "I'm sorry if I misunderstood."

He looks into my eyes. "No, it's not.....I just have to go." He says as he heads out the door and down the hall.

I watch him for a moment then go back inside my room. I lean back against the door. The tears flow down my face. What the hell just happened?

I'm sitting on the couch crying, trying to understand what happened. There's a knock on my door. I run to answer it, hoping it's Liam to explain.

It's not Liam, it's my friend Stacy. She's visiting me for a week while I'm on tour with the guys. "Rachel, are you ok?"

I move aside for her to come in. "Not really."

We sit down and I share with her exactly what happened.

"What an ass!" She says.

"That's the thing, he's not an ass. Not at all. The only thing I can think of is I must have misunderstood. I thought he wanted to kiss me. I guess not, though."

Stacy frowns. "Maybe just avoid him for a couple days. Let everything die down."

I shake my head. "I can't avoid him. I'm their personal assistant. It's my job to be around them."

Stacy gives me a hug. "I'm sorry, Rachel. I hate to see you so upset."

The next few days go by slowly. Things with Liam are a little awkward. I try to act as normal as possible. Liam doesn't mention the incident at all.

Friday night everyone decides to go out to a local club. Before we head out, Stacy insists on choosing my outfit. "You need to make Liam realize what he's missing." She pulls a dress from the closet. "No, I never wear that one." I tell her.

"Why? It's perfect."

"It's too short, and shows too much cleavage." I insist.

"That's exactly why it's perfect. Go try it on."

I come out in the red dress Stacy chose. She smiles. "Yep, that's the one. Let's go."

At the club, Stacy and I get a drink and have a seat on a sofa. "Liam has been watching you from the moment we walked in here." Stacy tells me.

I look over and catch his eye. I turn away. "He probably just feels awkward around me."

Liam's friend Andy approaches us. He puts his hand out to me. "Care to dance, love?"

I look over at Stacy and she nods her head yes. "Sure Andy, I'd love to." I tell him. He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor.

We dance together to a couple of faster songs. A slow song comes on next and Andy pulls me close. I put my arms around his neck. We sway together to the music. He moves his head down near my neck and starts to whisper something in my ear. Then we are physically torn apart from each other. It's Liam. He looks at Andy. "What the hell are you doing?" Then he turns to me. "Come with me, please?" He doesn't wait for an answer. He takes my hand and leads me to a back hallway in the club.
