You know it's crazy, how quickly your life can change. One second I was dancing at my final homecoming dance, the next I was skipping school to get high or drunk. I slowly started to lose friends at school, considering I never went. I was hanging out with the druggies of the town. I was 18 and being admitted to rehab.
Group sucks. They ask you to share how you're doing when you see them everyday because you're stuck there. I thought it would be the same old group, the whole Hi I'm whoever and this is why I'm sitting in this shitty room when I could be actually be enjoying my life. But today, today was different. There was a new face. We have people come and go everyday, and I usually pay them no mind, but this one caught my eye.
He looked to be around my age, maybe a few years older than me. Tattoos. Whole sleeves on both arms, they were easy to see since he had on short sleeves. Dirty blonde hair, and beautiful icy blue eyes.
"What's up, my name is Colson, but I go mostly by my stage name Machine Gun Kelly or Kells. And I'm here because I'm addicted to heroin."
It's interesting. I've heard a few of his songs, he's a good rapper. Not to mention he's super attractive. I heard he has a daughter, I wonder how she's dealing with this. She must be too young to take notice. I must have been too deep into my thoughts to notice that it was my turn to introduce myself. When the girl next to me nudged me, I was snapped out of my "trance" and I caught Colson laughing quietly.
"Hi I'm Tay, and I'm addicted to pills."
As soon as those words left my mouth, his eyes widened. Guess he didn't expect that, but neither did others in my life. I sat down quickly and soon it was time for the group to be finished. I got out of my seat and almost ran to the door, ready to go back to my room. As soon as I got out the door, with it about to shut behind me, I felt a hand on my upper arm.
"Hey, why are you leaving?" I noticed the voice belonged to the tattooed guy that is new to the group.
"I don't usually stick around for the juice and cookies sorry." I said sarcastically, turning around to look at him.
"Kells." He states while sticking out his hand for me to shake. I turned around and signalled for him to follow.
"So Colson" I noticed he was about to correct me and when I stopped him he just shook his head and laughed under his breath. "Heroin huh? That's some deadly shit man. I hope you don't mind, I'm not one for small talk."
"Where are we going?" He asked, continuing to follow.
"There's a courtyard out this door, real relaxing. So I've heard a bit about you, listened to some of your tracks, not too bad."
When we got outside, I sat on the bench and motioned for him to sit next to me.
"Thanks, I'm just here to get my shit together and be there for my daughter. She's two."
"Tell me about her." I said bringing my knees up to my chest and resting my head on them.
He did just that. He told me about Casie, his music, his life growing up, everything, And I told him about me. I knew in that moment, that we were going to be very important to each other, and by the look in his eyes, I think he could tell too.
