As I stare into his deep blue eyes I think of all the memories we've had together. It's been eight months since they invaded the world. Don't ask me what they are, I have no idea. All I know is that they can turn to any other animal, human being, or anything in between. You have no idea if you're talking to a human or one of them.
"Annie! Are you there?" Said Cole.
"Yeah don't worry." I replied.
"I see one" He told me.
I saw it too. It kept on transforming into different people as if it couldn't decide who it wanted to be today. They're nearly impossible to kill. They must be shot directly in the stomach using a knife or a bow and arrow. I took out my bow and fired. It dropped dead with a shriek almost instantly.
After about an hour, we headed back to camp. As we arrived we saw a group of them wrecking everything that had took us lots of time and energy to build. I quietly got out my bow, but I wasn't quiet enough, for they saw me. They started walking toward me, turned into some ferocious looking animal, and Cole and I bolted. We ran down to the river where we knew they couldn't get to us. Water—that's their worst weakness. Whenever they come in contact with it they flinch, but it doesn't kill them. For now we are safe from them, but are we really ever safe from them in this new world?
