Behind the words

You know kind of like behind the scenes. Stop it you, I know I am a genius.

*wiggles eyebrows and grins sheepishly*

So this is not the epilogue but an author's note where I'll go on thanking you guys like a retard + blabber about what exactly was going through my mind while I was writing this + answering all questions you guys have asked me.

On Mumbai Street is honestly a milestone in my life. Its like my love child with Wattpad because its my first ever completed book and that's crazy because its just another story from my diary which has tons of first chapters and summaries for various plots. There were so many times when I couldn't manage college and classes and this at the same time and I was all ready to just disappear but your comments and messages brought me back every time.

So I'd like to thank you guys for the 70k+ reads, 4k+ votes and 1k+ comments. You guys are just amazing and I love you'll like insane.

I have a special list of people to thank and here it goes:

BhavyaMathur: One fine evening, I was sitting at home when this crazy idea of writing an Indian teenage love story hit me and I scribbled down a rough plot. But I wasn't sure of it so I called this girl (because she will always be on my speed-dial). She was walking home from somewhere and there was all that sound of traffic behind her.

"Should I call you later?" I had asked.

"No go on just say it louder so that I can hear you."

And so I had to basically scream out the entire story and an hour or so later she was like, "That's amazing. Go for it." That was the start of OMS. If she would have said nah, its too cliché or anything like that, I would have stopped right there.

I also realized that there was quiet in her background.

"You reached home?"

"Oh, I reached half an hour ago but I didn't feel like stopping you."

Yes, pretty much lost my voice too.

Ah, I love you girl and our late night convos and our philosophical talks and our bear hugs and just about everything.

Also, I had actually planned for Arnav to be from Bangalore but she was the one who was like, "No not Bangalore, Delhi!"

Because even she shifted from Delhi to Mumbai -.-''

Okay, I don't even know from where to start with her because honestly, we have too many memories. From watching Rush Hour together during real crucial times to bitching about the dosas our moms gave us for lunch. We have so many inside jokes that we can make any third person feel like an outsider.

Also, she may be the only person I can spend six hours in the mall doing absolutely nothing but talking. Oh, you'd think that we did some reasonable shopping but nada, the only thing we actually bought was Taco Bell and KFC. But we did try out clothes more expensive than what we are worth and clicked aimless selfies. Oh, we also broke the bag token that crossword gave us and ran off before they could call us back for it.

Coz we are cool like that xD

She will always be my best and worst critic so when she told me that she was reading my book I was like, "Woah, wait! What?"
