Two, long, days passed after Shiro lost control and killed his only son. Two days was all Ichigo needed to regain his head, and become even more determined to find Ichiru.

"Alright Grimmjow," Ichigo spoke quietly from his bed, it was just getting to be dawn and he had no idea where Shiro was, "where is he?"

Grimmjow had walked through the door quietly with a candle in his hand, "He is out in the forest. What he did evidently hit him hard."

"It should!" Ichigo shouted, his eyes flashing from the demonic gold on black for a second, then going back to normal, "He killed my child!"

Grimmjow sighed and sat down beside Ichigo, and brought the orangette's head to his chest to calm him, "If you really want to do this, I have the spells to pull you back out if things get ugly. Keep in mind that even if Ichiru still loves Shiro, he is going to fight him, and it will get bloody. If Ichiru somehow loses, I'll pull you out. If you feel yourself being sucked into an abyss type thing, make sure you don't go through any doors."

"What are in the doors?" Ichigo asked quietly.

"Inside the doors," Grimmjow started as he stood up, and began placing the candles in certain areas, " should mostly be made up of Ichiru's past. If you go through them, you will become Ichiru for a short time period, and things might get a little messy after that." Grimmjow stopped and waved his hand side to side, "It's like going to the past and messing something up to maybe even stop yourself from being born. So don't do that."

Ichigo nodded, an idea began swirling in his head before Grimmjow nodded his head in content with the objects he had been placing.

"I placed a barrier on the door so that if Shiro comes back too early, he can't stop the process. Now," Grimmjow placed a hand on Ichigo's chest, "lay back."

Ichigo complied and rested his head on the pillow, looking up at the ceiling, and breathing in the light scent of the candles. It smelled like cinnamon and a dash of spiced fruit.

"Now, close your eyes," Grimmjow whispered.

Ichigo did so.

"You will slowly fall under a deep sleep; you will let your conscience fall back to the depths of your mind. When you get there, Ichiru will confront you. You must be firm with what you want or he will leave; it's either that, or he will already know what you want. Either way, he will try to trick you into giving him full control, you must not let that happen. Ready?"

Ichigo had paid close attention to all of Grimmjow's instructions, and locked them into his memory, "Ready."

"Alright."

Grimmjow then proceeded to chant strange words that Ichigo guessed was Latin, but he soon couldn't think straight. His head began to swirl, and he felt himself being sucked back.

"Do you hear me Ichigo?"

Ichigo wanted to answer the bluenette, but he couldn't move his mouth. He couldn't even open his eyes; so, he began to panic slightly.

"It's working. Ichigo, I know you can hear me, and I know you won't be able to respond because you are not really connected with your body anymore. You're technically just floating around in your mind at the moment."

Ichigo mentally rolled his eyes.

"Now comes the next step. Ichigo, you need to find the abyss."

Ichigo tried looking around, but all he could see is never ending darkness.

"You have to let your mind fall further. Let go. Fall." Grimmjow whispered, trying to calm the orangette.

Ichigo tried, but he was still stuck.
