How many nights have you wished someone would stay? (Chapter 18)

I woke up to Harry on a phone call. He sounded mad. Upset. He saw me staring at him and told the person on the other line he had to go.
"Who was that?" I asked.
"An old friend. Sorry I waked you."
"That didn't sound like an old friend."
"Okay. So I used to be engaged. A long time ago. I loved her. But she didn't seem to love me as much as I her.
We were engaged for almost a year before I found out she jumped from man to man every now and then. Sometimes she wouldn't come home. Sometimes I wished she would just come back and stay. But she didnt. In a way now I'm glad.. because I have you... Anaelle." After he said it, it looked like a weight was lifted from his chest.
"What was the call about then? It sounded heated?"
"She just wanted to get back together. But no way. I told her about how I was in a steady relationship and how we, you and i, actually loved eachother unlike her and I. Then she started to yell and say how she did love me. But I just fired back. No big deal."
"Oh. Okay.... are you alright?" I asked as I got out of bed and walked up to him, hugging him from behind.
He took a deep breath "Ya. I'm okay."

I couldn't imagine wondering whether or not someone who I loved would come home or not. I can't believe someone did that to Harry. He's such a great person. I don't know how you could come and go knowing how great he was and how much he loved you.

It felt good telling someone what had happened in my earlier life. In fact it felt so good I wanted to tell Anaelle more. Which I did. We talked for hours about our lives. How we grew up.. how we dealt with certain things... how we got through hard times. It was one of the best conversations we have had to date.

I know Anaelle will never leave me. I wont ever have to wonder where she is.
That's when I thought of the next lyrics..
"Anaelle I hate to stop this conversation but give me a sec I will be right back!"
I jogged upstairs and grabbed my book. I opened it and started to write...
How many nights have you wished someone would stay?
The lyrics came to me from my past relationship. I wished she stayed. But I'm also glad she didnt.
