Lost Jem

Chapter 1

After a long day the last thing the girls wanted was a car accident, they were tired and wanted to be home in their own beds warm and out of the cold.

Unfortunately fate wasn't on their side that evening.

Lou, Dani, Jem, Ems, Zara and Kathy were trudging home from school on a cold and rainy Friday evening. Typical British weather.They crossed the road, leaving Jem behind them as she juggled her many bags in one hand.

"Hey! Come on Jem!" Shouted Dani over the busy road as the traffic zoomed past, the drivers also desperate to get home, "If you don't hurry up we are leaving you!"

"I cant cross here!" Shouted Jem back at the others who were waiting for her under a tree for her on the other side of the road, "Its too busy!" Jem's hair was wet through and dripping, she knew that at some point she would have to run across the road.

"Well, i'm gonna give you 5 seconds to cross or i'm going" Dani picked up her bag and put it on her shoulder, the others stood up and looked over at Jem who was deciding when to cross while biting her nails, practically eating her hand. She always did that when she was under pressure.

"5," shouted Dani, hand on hip. Jem took her hand out of her mouth and stared at the road with a concentrated look on her face, looking for the perfect moment to cross.

"4," Jem noticed a gap in the traffic and proceeded to walk closer to the road.

"3," Jem walked out into the traffic, rubbing her eyes as she did, she could hardly see her hand in front of her face due to the heavy rain that hit the road around her.

"2," dared Dani, looking over to a slightly worried Jem who was stuck in the middle of the Road.

"1" She sighed and started to walk off, the others following her like mentally challenged puppy dogs. Apart from Lou and Ems, who pondered at the side of the road waiting for Jem to reach them.

"0." She muttered quietly as she walked off through the rain.

"NO! WAIT" Shouted Jem to Dani, stepping out in front of a car.

CRASH!

And that was the moment everything turned to Hell.
