September 24th, the day I've been dreading for 2 and a half months, the new School Year. I would lie if I was excited about it. I'm not full on excited but we have to go back sometime, right?

I was currently waiting at the bus stop for the bus so I could go to school, our school's pretty lucky because we have our own transport. It's really awesome because my old school was really far from where I lived back in Colorado about an hour and a half away if I remember correctly so I'm happy my mom enrolled me into a school that is super close to where I live now.

Moving on, school's okay I guess, but should I tell you the real reason I kinda like going? Well it's because of one girl and no she's not my girlfriend before you get any ideas. Her name is Laura, Laura Marano. We met on the first day of term and we instantly connected, she's so funny and knows me inside and out which is really hard because I'm a pretty private person. I don't really show of in school if you know what I mean. She's awesome, we're in every class together and she's just a full on adorkable human being. Yeah you heard right, adorkable..that's my nickname for her.

Don't judge.

Speaking of my bestie, I spotted her walking towards me with a big smile present on her face, she looked so cute with her blue woolly hat and black woolly scarf. All dressed for winter well since it's Autumn.

I couldn't resist the urge to kiss her cheek when I hugged her, she flinched, unexpectedly. She always laughed when I did that or something adorkable. I don't want to ruin the day just yet, we haven't even got to school yet.

"You okay?" I asked her once she pulled away.

"Uh..yeah, I'm fine." She smiled with a fake smile.

"You don't seem fine." I observed concerned.

Now before you go jumping to conclusions, Laura has never stopped me from being all affectionate with her, we do this almost everyday maybe it's just the first day of term and she's nervous about what teachers we will have. Or something like that.

"I'm fine, Ross." She sighed so I decided to drop the subject.

"Okay, are you excited about school?" I changed the subject.

"I guess, well the learning part." She made smile when she talks about school; she's so ambitious.

"Your such a geek." I pulled on her brown curled lock.

"Proud." I laughed at her attitude.

We talked for a bit more until the bus arrived, I let Laura go in first, being the gentleman I am and we sat in our usual seats which were in the middle.

"Ross, want to listen?" Laura held up an earbud once then bus started moving.

"No, I'm good." I declined and watched as she mumbled 'suit yourself' before putting her music on and blocking out the noisy background noises.

I sighed as I leaned my head in the window.

Laura was acting really weird, she doesn't make a face or even flinch when I be affectionate towards her, she just giggles and shrugs it of.

Not to mention, she's been like this ever since Saturday when I came to her house; it's like she's dealing with something and doesn't want to tell me. What could she be dealing with though? I'd wish she'd tell me that's what I love about our friendship.. We tell each other everything. So why not this?

The bus pulled up outside of school, me and Laura made our way out looking at the big building we call school, it is a really big building. There's a lot of professors and rooms so we have more vacant space; I heard the school is going to turn it into a dance studio.

"You okay, Ross?" Laura asked, making me snap back into reality.

"Huh? Oh yeah. Just thinking about the school and the big vacant space that still needs filling up." I laughed. I never think about school but it was the only way to keep my mind of Laura's surprising flinch.

"Your such a geek." She laughed and I blushed, slapping her shoulder.

"I'm not a geek!" She laughed as we continued to walk inside the school building.

"Yes you are!" She continued laughing as we arrived at our lockers.

"No, I'm not!"

"Ross, it's not a bad thing. Sometimes your inner kid comes out and yours just did." I'm so not a geek, I maybe super good at Chemistry and Music but Laura's the geek...no doubt about it.

"Laura shut up." I whined as she laughed again, I know she's teasing me.

"Cmon Ross, you can't be mad at meee!" She said in a baby voice, wrapping her arms around my neck from behind. I almost blushed at the contact, I have the biggest crush on Laura if you didn't know.

"Your lucky your my best friend." I rolled my eyes playfully.

"And don't you forget it." She winked as she wrapped her legs around my waist.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I balanced her on me to keep her from falling. She's as light as a feather, that's the good thing.

"Your carrying me to class. Your my night in shinning armour. No carry pwease!" She did her funny baby accent again while I rolled my eyes and carried her to class.

I let her down since the bell had just gone, we walked into class, laughing as we sat down in the front row, like always.

"You guys at it again." Laura's friend, Rydel walked in observing our happy moods.

"Shut up." Laura waved her of and Rydel laughed walking to the back of the classroom to go find her friends since they always sat at the back.

"Right class, welcome back. Did you have a good well deserved break?" The teacher, Ms. Gomez and the class responded with a 'yeah and yawns complaining they were tired' since some of them were very still tired. No one likes school on the first day back from them, they give you to much homework.

"Well I'm glad some of us had a good ones now everyone I would like to introduce a new student who will be joining our class, her name is Maia Mitchell, come in please Maia!" Ms. Gomez announced while and Laura glanced at each other. New student, on the first day back?

A brunette walked in, seconds later, she was brunette and had hazel eyes, she also looked a little nervous. Maybe she doesn't like audiences I know I don't. She's cute but not my type of cute.

Now here's the par that I didn't practically like.
