I will be leaving in a few days to head up to the war and I'm only 25 years old. I'm very worried about dying in the battlefield. all of my family and friends don't want me to leave. when I was trying to get in to the war they had to check my heath records and ceck that my heath wasd all good to go to war. A few days later I got my uniform. When I told my paents that I will be going to war at first they thought I was jokeing, because I liked to joke around a lot, then I showed them my uniform and they started to realizes I was serious.
I'M Leaving to go to egypt for my training. I will be on the ship for 24 days when we arrived in egypt it was late afternoon so we ate dinner which was not very nice.there was no fresh fruit or vegetables, our captain said that we should get used to it because in the monthes to come this is all we have to eat. so we ate diner and went to bed in our tents. in the next few monthes of traning, the nights wer cold and the day was very hot.during our traning we muched, we learnt how to dig trenchers and shoot our rifles.during training I made some friends. we knew eachouther like brouthers. we were all scaird of going into war and we knew that if we died we wolud be rememberd as heroes.
I have bean traning for over six monthes and I have learnt a lot and we will be going to war soon. my firends and i borded the frezzing cold ship to head off to war.it will be 17 days untill we get to the place named gallipoil, the place my capten was dredding. when we got cloce to shour, we got in small boats and paddled our way to shour. all I could smell was gun pouwder and the roar of pistols through the screem of mean getting shot.this is when I started to get really woryed about war.then we jumped into nearest australien trench we could find. I made it into a trench bedfor getting shot at. moast of the day i spent trying to find my capten as well as my friends.I found one of my friends but the outher two didn't make it they died when they got to the shore. I was very saD to hear that my friends had died but we found our captin hiding away in the captins quarters. so we asked him what we would need to do. he said to use our rifles to shoot the opposition, the turkish soldiers and he said not to stick our heads above the trenchers otherwise we would be shot.we were shooting all day and most of the nights for the next few months. I found that I got some sleep but not much beacause all of the boming sounds of the rifles.
after a few monthes of beaing in the battilfield i left to go home. all of my mates died in the war but I made it out alive. when I got home, my family and friends were all so happy I made it out.
