My eyes followed her every step.

Her short, fair hair stood out in the crowd, the straps of her jumper slightly falling off her shoulders.

Her eyes wandered and it slowly met mine. Busted.

I averted my eyes quickly and started picking at the loose threads on my jeans. I let my long, curly, beanie-clad hair cover my face.

The tiny prism hanging from my bracelet caught sunlight, projecting little rainbows on my wrists. I traced the colours with my fingertips when I felt someone come from behind me.

"That's beautiful," said a girl with slightly raspy voice. "I know," I responded without turning around.

"I'm Ashley," she muttered, a hand now in front of me. My mouth dried up when I realized that she was the same girl I was watching earlier. "Umm.."

"Oh, sorry, I, uh, I'm Scarlet," I stuttered, feeling anxious. I've already embarrassed myself minutes within meeting her. Great.

She plopped down beside me, lighting up a cigarette. Damn.

"Any problems?" she asked, one eyebrow raised.

"No," I smiled. My mind raced and my palms started to sweat. I wiped them on the non-destroyed part of my jeans.

"Would you like to get coffee, like, right now?" I asked. What the fuck has gotten into me?

"Thought you'd never ask," she smirked, throwing the cigarette on the ground and stomping on it.

She pulled my hand, walking towards the coffee shop beside the train station.

We sat down at the left side of the door.

"What do you want? I'll pay," she said.

"What? No! I'll pay, I'm the one who asked you, right?" I started to fish out my wallet from my mess of a drawstring.

"Nah, you pay next time," she winked. I felt my cheeks heat up and my heart speed up.

"Scarlet, suits you, like your color right now," she joked. "Shut up," I muttered, pushing her playfully towards the open door. "Also, a Caramel Macchiato please."

She sat down, placing my coffee in front of me.

"I like writing poetry and songs and all things in between, you?" she asked.

"Well I like drawing beautiful things," I said, emphasizing the word beautiful as I smiled at her. "And, well, I like dreaming."

"What were you doing at the train station?"

"I was looking for a scenery to draw, but, I, um g-got distracted,"I covered my face with my hands.

"I'm sorry for being so embarrassing, I just-" she cut me off by placing her finger on my lips. My heart raced again and I felt lightheaded. "No need to apologize, Scar," she whispered, placing a light kiss on my cheek.

"You're actually quite adorable," she said, fixing the askew square glasses perched on my nose.

I played with the knot of the flannel tied around my wrist, grinning to myself.

I looked up, to see her smiling beautifully, her cheekbones standing out, a glint in her eyes.

She's perfect.

I took out my small polaroid, taking a picture.

I put the polaroid back into my bag.

I finished the last drop of coffee.

"What are you thinking right now?" she asked.

"How amazing it is that you make my heart beat fast already," I admitted.
